    Abstract: Embodiments relate to register comparison for register comparison for operand store compare (OSC) prediction. An aspect includes, for each instruction in an instruction group of a processor pipeline: determining a base register value of the instruction; determining an index register value of the instruction; and determining a displacement of the instruction. Another aspect includes comparing the base register value, index register value, and displacement of each instruction in the instruction group to the base register value, index register value, and displacement of all other instructions in the instruction group. Another aspect includes based on the comparison, determining that a load instruction of the instruction group has a probable OSC conflict with a store instruction of the instruction group. Yet another aspect includes delaying the load instruction based on the determined probable OSC conflict.

    Abstract: A neural prosthetic device can selectively deliver light to different cortical layers, at different depths, in the brain. The device includes LEDs and corresponding waveguides that can extend into the brain. At least two of the waveguides have different lengths. The neural prosthetic device or other devices can be manufactured by changing the hydrophilicity or lyophilicity of a portion of a substrate layer, then depositing uncured polymer on the treated portion of the substrate layer. The uncured polymer flows under the influence of surface tension to form a volume. The volume is shaped as a dome that extends laterally to a boundary between the treated and untreated portions. The polymer is cured in discrete regions through the substrate layer. The discrete regions extend longitudinally from the substrate layer to a curved surface of the dome. The uncured portion of the polymer is removed. The cured regions form the waveguides.

The design method of the vehicle body composite coating includes establishment of a physical model, selection of an optimal thickness ratio, preparation of the vehicle body composite coating and an erosion test. The vehicle body composite coating enhances the binding force between the whole coating system and the aluminium alloy substrate, reduces the possibility of shedding of the coating as a whole, and improves the anti-erosion performance of the vehicle body composite coating.

    Abstract: A system of generating steam from an emulsion stream produced from a reservoir via thermal recovery has a heat exchanger for adjusting the emulsion to a first temperature; at least one separation device for separating water from the emulsion at the first temperature to obtain produced water; an optional produced water preheater, and a high pressure evaporator for receiving the produced water and generating steam using the produced water. An evaporator has a vapor drum; a heating element receiving the water stream, and in fluid communication with the vapor drum via a pressure letdown device; a heating source for imparting sensible heat to the water stream for generating steam. The evaporator also includes a recirculation pump for circulation of blowdown concentrate, and a bubble generator for generating bubbles and injecting generated bubbles into the heating element to enable self-removal of scales and other solid deposits in the evaporator.
