Publication number: 20240428522Abstract: Techniques, devices, and systems for computer-altered reality data rendering coordination are discussed herein. Coordination of disjointed and/or distributed rendering of computer-altered reality data (e.g., extended reality (XR) data) performed by networks and systems can be performed. The coordination can be performed based on various types of information. Information utilized to perform the coordination of computer-altered reality data rendering can include coordination and/or rendering information (e.g., global coordination information, global rendering information, other global information of one or more other types, or any combination thereof). The computer-altered reality data can be rendered utilizing coordinated nodes, which can provide rendered computer-altered reality data for the user devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2023Publication date: December 26, 2024Inventor: Wen-Ping Ying

Publication number: 20240428521Abstract: Described herein are techniques, devices, and systems for utilizing network locations to manage rendering of computer-altered reality data based on activity data. For example, the computer-altered reality data, which can include extended reality (XR) data, can be rendered based on rendering location information. The rendering location information can include network category information associated with locations of the networks. The networks can be utilized to render the computer-altered reality data based on characteristics data. The computer-altered reality data being rendered can be aggregated, and transmitted to the user devices, by network locations within threshold distances of the user devises.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2023Publication date: December 26, 2024Inventor: Wen-Ping Ying

Publication number: 20240334154Abstract: Techniques for deploying location based applications in a network are discussed herein. Such location based applications can be installed or implemented in a network node close to the base station and/or the location of the user equipment (UE) using the location based application in an environment. When a user is within a geofence area associated with the location based applications, the UE can present an indication that location based services are available instead of requiring a user to select an application on their own or thorough an application store. After the exchanging authentication information, the UE can use authentication information to send a request, along with location data or pose data of the UE, to an edge server to render content for presentation on the UE. The edge server can transmit the content to the UE for presenting content at the location in accordance with the location based application.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2023Publication date: October 3, 2024Inventors: Wen-Ping Ying, John Saw

Patent number: 8792642Abstract: An apparatus, system and method provides an out-of-synchronization detection by using a network layer checksum. A process operating at an upper layer verifies that a checksum embedded in a network layer header is correct before encrypting and transmitting a data packet containing the header and a payload. The data packet is received through a wireless communication channel at a receiver and decrypted. A calculated checksum is calculated on the received payload at the receiver and compared to the received checksum embedded in the header. A key stream used at the receiver for decrypting the received encrypted data packets is determined to be out of synchronization with a key stream used at the transmitter to encrypt the data packets if the calculated checksum is not equal to the network layer checksum.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2012Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Assignees: AT&T Mobility II LLC, AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: James Alexander Reeds, III, Wen-Ping Ying

QoS channels for multimedia services on a general purpose operating system platform using data cards
Patent number: 8767656Abstract: A SIP (session initiation protocol) service activation abstraction layer that provides a unified interface to upper layer applications for discovering, establishing, and managing the QoS connectivity. In one implementation, this is IP Multimedia Subsystem-centric, further supporting applications that utilize SIP for session control. This capability extends to the data card universe allowing UMTS data card vendors to establish concurrent QoS-based sessions using multiple primary PDP (packet data protocol) contexts based on a set of SIP triggers, further allowing applications running on a computing system to transparently utilize the established pipes based on the individual QoS requirements.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2012Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Wen-Ping Ying, Donald C.
