    Abstract: An electrical connector for interconnecting a camera module with a printed circuit board comprises a metal housing including a base wall and side walls extending upwardly from the edge of the base wall. Wherein one of the base wall and the side walls defines a grounding spring extending from the outer surface thereof to ourside. Therefore, when the electrical connector is assembled into a chamber formed on the mobile phone for accommodating the electrical connector, the grounding spring can be compressed between the housing and the inner wall of the chamber, thus, the electricity from the camera module can be transmitted to the mobile phone via the grounding spring and the electrical connector is not interfered by the other electric equipment.

The flexible printed circuit board includes a first section (701) received in the receiving space and second section (700) extending beyond the receiving space. The fist section at least defines a plurality of conductive pads (708) to contact with pads (not shown) formed on the bottom face of the camera module. A protecting element (702) is disposed on top surface of the first section and encloses the conductive pads and disconnects therewith so as to prevent the flexible printed circuit board from being scraped during production and assemble and the like.

The shielding shell defines a pair of soldering tabs (4040) on the two ends thereof bearing against the side walls of the metal shell. The shielding shell are connected with the metal shell by spot welding the soldering tabs of the shielding shell to the end walls. Therefore, a firm connection is provided between the metal shell, the insulating housing, and the shielding shell.
