  • Publication number: 20200012613
Abstract: In example implementations, a method to change a data transfer configuration of a data cable is provided. The method includes receiving a selection of a data transfer configuration option from a plurality of different data transfer configuration options of a data cable that has data lanes to transfer video data and non-video data. A reported number of supported resolutions or refresh rates is modified in accordance with the data transfer configuration option that is selected. The reported number of supported resolutions or refresh rates that is modified is then transmitted to a computing device connected to a display device via the data cable to transmit data via the data cable in accordance with the data transfer configuration option that is selected.

  • Patent number: 10437761
Abstract: According to an example of managing a universal serial bus (“USB”), a device connected to a USB hub controller is sensed and a USB information scheme from the device is fetched. A power requirement of the device is determined through the USB information scheme, and a total power consumption of a plurality of devices connected to the USB hub controller is calculated. USB information scheme data to display to a user and a data display arrangement are determined, and a monitor scalar is instructed to display the USB information scheme in the determined data display arrangement. Power to the device is distributed based on the total power consumption of all devices connected to the hub controller and a user setting.

  • Publication number: 20190129495
Abstract: The first time a display device is turned on, is turned on after it has been factory reset, or is factory reset, the display device displays a message indicating that in a default and current power mode of the display device, a hardware component of the display device different than display hardware is powered off when the display device enters a low-power state. A user is permitted to have the hardware component remain powered on when the display device enters the low-power state.

  • Publication number: 20050162415
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent display panel device and method that can adjust its luminosity according to changing ambient light. The device first uses its built-in light detectors to obtain both external and internal luminosity values. A microcomputer system then goes on to compare the values and compute a proper value for adjusting the display panel luminosity. The value is then passed to an internal luminosity converter which first converts the value into a series of signals and then transmits the converted signals to a built-in Luminosity Control Module that will adjust the luminosity of the display panel according to this value. With the present invention, computer users won't have to manually adjust the luminosity of the display panel. The method will compare internal and ambient light and compute an optimum display panel luminosity value in response to changes in the ambient light.
