Abstract: A thin film transistor includes a substrate, a semiconductor layer, a gate insulating layer, a gate, a source and a drain. The semiconductor layer is located above the substrate. The gate insulating layer is located above the semiconductor layer. The gate is located above the gate insulating layer and overlapping with the semiconductor layer. The gate includes a first portion, a second portion and a third portion. The first portion is extending along the surface of the gate insulating layer and directly in contact with the gate insulating layer. The second portion is separated from the gate insulating layer. Taking the surface of the gate insulating layer as a reference, the top surface of the second portion is higher than the top surface of the first portion. The third portion connects the first portion to the second portion. The source and the drain are electrically connected to the semiconductor layer.

Abstract: A package structure includes a first die, a second die over and electrically connected to the first die, an insulating material around the second die, a first antenna extending through the insulating material and electrically connected to the second die, the first antenna being adjacent to a first sidewall of the second die, wherein the first antenna includes a first conductive plate extending through the insulating material, and a plurality of first conductive pillars extending through the insulating material, wherein the first conductive plate is between the plurality of first conductive pillars and the first sidewall of the second die.

Abstract: A semiconductor structure including a semiconductor substrate, a first patterned dielectric layer, a grating coupler and a waveguide is provided. The semiconductor substrate includes an optical reflective layer. The first patterned dielectric layer is disposed on the semiconductor substrate and covers a portion of the optical reflective layer. The grating coupler and the waveguide are disposed on the first patterned dielectric layer, wherein the grating coupler and the waveguide are located over the optical reflective layer.

Abstract: A thermally tunable waveguide including an optical waveguide and a heater is provided. The optical waveguide includes a phase shifter. The heater is disposed over the optical waveguide. The heater includes a heating portion, pad portions and tapered portions. The heating portion overlaps with the phase shifter of the optical waveguide. The pad portions are disposed aside of the heating portion. Each of the pad portions is connected to the heating portion through one of the tapered portions respectively.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a physical layout for a grating coupler integrated in a photonically-enabled circuit are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the method receives a parametrized wavelength, a parametrized first refractive index, a parametrized second refractive index, a parametrized taper length, a parametrized width, a parametrized grating length, and a parametrized incident angle of the optical beam incident onto the grating coupler and generates a physical layout for the grating coupler based on the received parametrized inputs, the generating of the physical layout is according to a predefined model, and outputs the physical layout of the grating coupler for manufacturing under a semiconductor fabrication process.

The connection parts are located by two sides of the discrete part, separated from the discrete part, and connected to the metal back cover. A U-shaped slot is formed between the discrete part and the metal back cover and between the discrete part and the connection parts. The first radiator is separated from the discrete part and includes a feed end. The second, third, and fourth radiators are connected to the discrete part and the metal back cover. The third radiator is located between the first and second radiators. The first radiator is located between the third and fourth radiators. The discrete part and the first, second, third, and fourth radiators form an antenna module together.

The metal frame includes a first and a second disconnection portion, a first and a second connection portion. The first and the second connection portion are connected to the metal back cover. The second disconnection portion is connected to the second connection portion and is separated from the metal back cover to form a second slot. The first antenna module is connected to the first disconnection portion, and forms a first antenna path. The second antenna module is connected to the second disconnection portion, and forms a second and a third antenna path with the second disconnection portion and the metal back cover.

The method includes the steps of (a) providing a reference speech, (b) receiving a user speech, (c) analyzing the user speech and the reference speech, (d) creating a speech parameter, (e) proceeding a speech correction by using the speech parameter and the user speech, and (f) outputting a corrected speech.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a text-to-speech system, including a text processor dividing a first text data and a second text data from a text string having at least a first language and a second language; a database including a plurality of acoustic units commonly used by the first and second languages; a first speech synthesis unit and a second speech synthesis unit generating a first speech data corresponding to the first text data and a second speech data corresponding to the second text data respectively by using the plurality of acoustic units; and a prosody processor optimizing prosodies of the first and second speech data.

The method is used for generating a speech answer in a speech dialogue system, in which the speech dialogue system includes a speech recognizing process for recognizing a speech input inputted from a user to generate a textual answer.
