  • Publication number: 20050062597
Abstract: A vehicular turning indicator is used for automatically showing a turning degree of a vehicle. The vehicular turning indicator includes a sensor sensing a turning angle of the vehicle; a control device asserting a control signal according to the turning direction, the turning angle and optionally the speed of the vehicle; and a plurality of lightening units in communication with the control device brightening to constitute a variable pattern in response to the control signal. The vehicular turning indicator can be implemented by currently existent vehicular lamps such as indicator light, brake light or head-up display, be incorporated into an existent vehicular accessory such as rearview mirror module or auxiliary brake light module, or independently mounted to the vehicle. Preferably, special flashing effects are performed to make the turning indication prominent.

Abstract: A door handle module of a car optionally illuminates for locating and/or safety purposes. The illuminating portion of the door handle module can be arranged on either the handle portion or the base portion. When the driver unlocks the door, particularly when practiced via a remote car controller, the illuminating portion of the door handle module emits light so that the driver can find the handle portion easily to open the door. On the other hand, when the driver or passenger is ready to get off the car, the illumination portion also emits light to warn the oncoming vehicles or pedestrians to prevent from hitting on the opening door.

  • Publication number: 20040197932
Abstract: A bio-electronic system for detecting a broad range of chemicals is achieved by the incorporation of ligand-binding affinities of lipocalins with a mass-sensing electronic device. A biotransducer system combines the unique ligand-binding affinities of lipocalins with the high sensitivity of piezoelectric-based devices. As “artificial-nose”, this system is more reliable, cost-effective, and flexible for a number of applications in sensory evaluation, including air quality monitoring, quality control of cosmetic and fermentation products, medical diagnosis via breath analysis et al. These proteinaceous elements are likely to be extended to several potential applications, e.g., for the purification and delivery of specific ligands.

  • Publication number: 20030191569
Abstract: A vehicular monitor is controlled by either a manual control device or an automatic control device. In response to an activation state of one of the manual control device and the automatic control device, a first actuating signal is asserted to adjust the working condition of the vehicular monitor according to the first actuating signal. In response to an activation state of the other of the manual control device and the automatic control device, the first actuating signal is asserted and a second actuating signal is asserted in stead to adjust the working condition of the vehicular monitor according to the second actuating signal. The vehicular monitor is for example a rearview mirror, a camera or a display. The working condition of the vehicular monitor is adjusted for example by moving or rotating the rearview mirror, changing focus of camera or zooming in/out the display.
