  • Patent number: 8580448
Abstract: By incorporating a selectively conducting component in electrical series with the anode components in a solid polymer fuel cell, degradation during startup and shutdown can be reduced. As a result, the startup and shutdown procedures can be simplified and consequently certain system apparatus may be omitted. The anode does not need to be rapidly purged with hydrogen on startup or with air on shutdown. Additionally, the auxiliary load usually employed during such purging is not required.

  • Patent number: 8524168
Abstract: A device for holding a medical test strip is provided. The device comprises a receiving casing having an opening for receiving the medical test strip and a first stopping portion protruding from an upper surface of the receiving casing; an ejection base having a cover and a pusher beneath the cover, the cover downwardly extending a second stopping portion for sliding against the upper surface of the receiving casing; and an elastic member located between the receiving casing and the ejection base. When the pusher moves toward the opening by an external force to eject the test strip from the opening, the elastic member is compressed and the second stopping portion slides away from the first stopping portion. When the external force disappears, the second stopping portion slides toward the first stopping portion by a resilient force of the elastic member until the first stopping portion and the second stopping portion are engaged.

  • Patent number: 8455372
Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technical field of semiconductor materials and specifically relates to a method for cleaning and passivizing gallium arsenide (GaAs) surface autologous oxide and depositing an Al2O3 dielectric. This method includes: use a new-type of sulfur passivant to react with the autologous oxide on the GaAs surface to clean it and generate a passive sulfide film to separate the GaAs from the outside environment, thus preventing the GaAs from oxidizing again; further cleaning the residuals such as autologous oxides and sulfides on the GaAs surface through the pretreatment reaction of the reaction source trimethyl aluminum (TMA) of the Al2O3 ALD with the GaAs surface, and then deposit high-quality Al2O3 dielectric through ALD as the gate dielectric which fully separates the GaAs from the outside environment. The present invention features a simple process and good effects, and can provide preconditions for manufacturing the GaAs devices.
