    Abstract: An in-vehicle computer system includes a host computer, a mode switch and a backup microprocessor. When the host computer functions ordinarily, the mode switch is in a regular mode as a default, and the host computer uses various graphical interfaces on a display to control the operations of electronic devices implemented in a vehicle. The electronic devices can include a digital versatile disc (DVD) player, an MP3 player and a global positioning system (GPS). When a total failure of the computer occurs, the mode switch is switched to a backup mode, and the host computer is replaced by the backup microprocessor to control a backup graphical processor to extract backup graphical interfaces from a backup storage medium for graphical processing and further presentation on the display. Thus, a driver can continuously control the corresponding electronic devices through the backup graphical interfaces on the display.

Via this arrangement, the contact area between the insertion terminal and the docking terminal can be increased, and the reliability of the connector for transmitting the electric current and signals can be increased.     Abstract: An impulsive noise suppresser and method thereof is provided. The impulsive noise suppresser includes an automatic gain control unit, variable gain amplification unit, impulsive detection unit and impulsive suppression unit. The automatic gain control unit determines a gain value according to a PAPR. The variable gain amplification unit amplifies a reception signal by the gain value. The gain value is determined such that the amplified reception signal as unaffected by the impulsive noise can have an amplitude range smaller than a predetermined range. The impulsive detection unit is coupled to the variable gain amplification unit for determining whether the amplified reception signal is larger than a maximum value of the predetermined range and outputting an impulsive alarm signal if the reception signal is larger than the maximum value. The impulsive suppression unit suppresses the impulsive noise as receiving the impulsive alarm signal, and then outputs an output signal.

The optical cavity causes the intracavity laser pulse to propagate therein for providing the output laser pulse, providing a first laser pulse, a second laser pulse and a third laser pulse to the short-wavelength-pass filter, the polarization controller and the optical gain fiber respectively, and adjusting the intracavity laser pulse.
