Abstract: The invention provides a method for receiving digital broadcast signals of a plurality of channels. The method comprises: storing a channel-parameter contrast table which includes parameter values of a plurality of parameters with which each of the plurality of channels is previously received; testing whether the digital broadcast signals of one of the plurality of channels can be received according to the parameter values stored in the channel-parameter contrast table to determine a receiving status; generating a plurality of channel numbers corresponding to each of the receivable channels of the plurality of channels according to the receiving statuses of the plurality of channels; and receiving the signals of a target channel according to the parameter values stored in the channel-parameter contrast table, wherein the target channel is one of the plurality of channels and selected by a user through the plurality of channel numbers.

Abstract: A method for handling spam emails is provided. The method is executed by an email client computer connected to a first mail server and comprises the following steps. An email received from the first mail server is identified as a spam email or a valid email first according to at least one judgment condition. A number of spam emails received from the same sender identity as a sender identity of the email is then accumulated if the email is identified as a spam email. A warning message about the sender identity is then issued to a second mail server of the sender of the email or a network police if the number is larger than a threshold value.

Abstract: A multi-function digital video optical disc player includes a housing; an optical disc drive installed inside the housing for reading a first video data from an optical disc; a tape drive installed inside the housing for reading a DV tape to retrieve a second video data complying with a first data format; a video data format converter installed inside the housing for converting the second video data into a third video data complying with a second data format and for outputting the third video data; a decoder installed in the housing for decoding the first or the third video data to generate a fourth video data; and a display controller installed inside the housing for outputting display data to an external monitor according to the fourth video data.
