    Abstract: A carrier indication method, user equipment, and a base station are disclosed. The method includes: receiving, by user equipment, first information sent by a base station; if the user equipment is capable of transmitting uplink data and downlink data on a carrier, determining, by the user equipment according to the first information, a carrier used for transmitting first-type information; and transmitting, by the user equipment, the first-type information on the determined carrier, where the first-type information includes at least one of the following: uplink data, downlink data, and scheduling information. In this application, user equipment determines, according to first information sent by a base station, a carrier used for transmitting information, and therefore, can normally transmit information.

    Abstract: The illustrative embodiments pertain to a test fixture having low insertion inductance for large bandwidth monitoring of current signals. In one exemplary embodiment, the test fixture includes a baseplate with each resistor of a set of resistors embedded inside a respective non-plated through slot in the baseplate. A first terminal of each resistor is soldered to a top metallic zone of the baseplate and a second terminal soldered to a first of two bottom metallic zones of the baseplate. The top metallic zone is connected by plated-through holes to a second of the two bottom metallic zones. When mounted upon a PCB, the test fixture allows current flow from the first bottom metallic zone, upwards through the set of resistors to the top metallic zone, and downwards to the second bottom metallic zone. An observation instrument may be coupled to a coaxial connector that is mounted on the baseplate.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for transmission of a synchronization signal. The method includes: transmitting, by a base station, the synchronization signal repeatedly and periodically to a terminal. In one repetition period, the synchronization signal is transmitted over time corresponding to a plurality of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in one or more subframes. The synchronization signal is a Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS) or a Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS). Alternatively, the method includes: receiving, by a terminal, the synchronization signal transmitted from a base station repeatedly and periodically. In this way, the problem associated with inappropriate design of the synchronization signals in the NB-LTE system can be solved and proper transmission of the synchronization signals in the narrow band system can be achieved.

    Abstract: A system and method for algal harvesting and destabilization are provided. The system includes a multifunctional reactive electrochemical membrane (REM). The application of an electrical current generates reactive species at the REM surface and oxidizes algae and soluble organic compounds. This novel type of membrane filtration avoids the use of harmful chemical additives. In addition, it provides the benefits of avoiding polymer aging, membrane fouling, and high costs caused by high transmembrane pressures and frequent membrane cleaning. Traditional membrane separation that significantly suffers from membrane fouling due to either the formation of a cake layer of algal cells, or more commonly due to organic matter adsorption onto the membrane surface is significantly avoided.

Dislodged foulants are removed by the microwave electromagnetic energy from the filtration membrane and carried away in a cross-flow stream and wasted or recycled back to a feed solution container. The filtration system may use different filtration configurations such as, but not limited to, flat sheet, hollow fiber, spiral wound and tubular membranes. The filtration membrane materials may be polymeric, ceramic, and combinations. The functionalized membranes can be such as, but not limited to, membranes coated or blended or cross-linked with materials displaying strong microwave absorption; and combinations.
