  • Patent number: 8496961
Abstract: A process for preparing a microparticulate complex is provided. The process comprises (a) combining a particle-forming component (“PFC”) and a nucleic acid-like component (“NAC”) in a monophasic composition comprising water and a water-miscible, organic solvent to form a mixture wherein the PFC and the NAC are independently molecularly or micellarly soluble in the aqueous/organic solvent system, and (b) reducing the amount of the organic solvent in the mixture. This effects formation of the microparticulate complex of the NAC and the PFC. Also provided is a microparticulate complex that comprises a particle-forming component complexed to a nucleic acid-like component forming an approximately spherical particle, wherein the particle-forming component encloses an interior of the particle containing the nucleic acid-like component and the so-enclosed interior volume has less than about 50% (preferably less than 20%) of the volume containing free water.

  • Publication number: 20070134913
Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide methods of forming a metal interconnect structure which avoid defects arising from copper migration. In accordance with particular embodiments, an electroplated copper feature is subjected to a brief thermal anneal prior to chemical mechanical polishing and subsequent formation of an overlying barrier layer. This thermal anneal intentionally provokes migration of the copper and resulting formation of hillocks or voids, which are then removed by a CMP step. The barrier layer may thus subsequently be formed over a defect-free surface, which has already experienced stress release along grain boundaries as a result of the thermal treatment.

  • Publication number: 20050158947
Abstract: A method for forming a self-aligned trench is disclosed. The steps of the method include providing a semiconductor substrate with a buried layer. A buffer layer and a first hard mask layer are formed sequentially on a surface of the semiconductor substrate. Parts of the first hard mask layer, the buffer layer and the semiconductor substrate are removed to form openings. A capacitor is formed in the interior of the opening of the semiconductor substrate. A second hard mask layer is formed conformally on the first hard mask layer and the capacitor. An insulator layer and a pattern photoresist layer are formed sequentially on the second hard mask layer.

  • Patent number: 6773275
Abstract: A memory card connector is positioned on a printed circuit board (PCB) which is coupled to ground so as to receive and couple a memory card. The connector has a main body positioned on the PCB. The connector also has a cover removably attached to the main body to define a memory card receiving space between the PCB, the main body and the cover. The cover has at least one flexible extension extending into the receiving space, and a draining portion that is electrically coupled to the main body. The memory card is inserted into the receiving space so that the extension contacts a metal portion on the memory card, with the extension electrically coupled to ground via the draining portion and the main body. Thus, static electricity can be drained to ground via the extension, the draining portion and the main body.
