    Abstract: A battery system having interconnected battery packs is disclosed. Each battery pack includes a plurality of rectangular prismatic shaped cells. Each cell includes a positive terminal at one end and a negative terminal at the other end. The cells are housed in a battery pack housing in a side-by-side manner. The cells may be electrically connected in series so that the positive terminal for a cell extends toward and contacts the negative terminal of an adjacent cell and the negative terminal for the cell extends toward and contacts the positive terminal of another adjacent cell.

The coiled core has a length Lcore and a width Wcore and each connector has a width Wconnector. The average granule diameter of the lithium alloy granule is between 5 ?m and 40 ?m. The average thickness of the shell layer is between 50 ? and 1000 ?. The average diameter of the lithium alloy composite is between 10 ?m to 50 ?m. The methods of fabrication for the material includes the following steps: stirring lithium alloy granules in an organic solution with a coating substance, drying the solid product in the organic solution with a coating substance, calcining the dried product to obtain the negative electrode material with lithium alloy composites.
