Abstract: A motion driven event alert system and method synchronize output of follow-up event alerts on a mobile electronic device to changes in the state of motion of the device. Generally, the device outputs an initial alert in response to receipt of a new event from a wireless network. If a user fails to take action on the device after the device outputs the initial alert, the device determines a state of motion of the device and monitors for a change in the state of motion. When a change is detected, the device outputs a follow-up alert. If the user fails to take action on the device after the device outputs the follow-up alert, the device repeats the steps of motion state determination, motion state change monitoring, motion state change detection and output of another follow-up alert.

Abstract: A method and system streamlines the process of broadcasting spontaneous social invitations to predefined social contacts and improves the prospects of that these social contacts will accept the invitations through judicious integration of contactless identification (ID) technology with a proxy server that sends social invitations on behalf of subscribers using preconfigured subscriber and venue profiles.

A restoration package is installed on a mobile electronic device after installation on the device of a software update package, resulting in automatic restoration transparent to the user of any user selections of device settings that may have been modified during installation of the software update package.

Abstract: Security for data stored on a removable memory element communicatively coupled with a mobile electronic device is achieved through encryption of the data using authentication information stored on a removable identification element communicatively coupled with the device. By encrypting the data stored on the removable memory element using authentication information that is stored on a removable identification element, only the possessor of the removable identification element or a person with knowledge of personal information stored thereon can access the data. Private data stored on the removable memory element is thereby advantageously protected against disclosure to a person who is not meant to have access to the data.
