    Abstract: A starter motor for an engine includes a motor casing made of electrically conductive material and an end bracket fixed to one end of the motor casing. The end bracket comprises a base with brush cages integrally formed therewith, brushes mounted in the brush cages and a conductor electrically connected to the brushes and motor casing. The base is a single piece made of electrically insulating material and coaxial mounting holes are formed in the base and motor casing for fasteners to fix the starter motor to a housing of the engine.
