    Abstract: A message system includes a first node that may send a message to a second node, provide metadata associated with the message, and send the metadata to a database. The database may determine that the message was not received by the second node based upon the metadata and a current time, and direct the first node to resend the message to the second node in response to determining that the message was not received.     Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording writer has a main pole (MP) with a first flux guiding (FG) device in a write gap between the MP trailing side and a trailing shield, and a second FG device in the leading gap (LG) and each side gap (SG). The SG angle is reduced to 15° to 45° to enable conformal and more uniform FG device layers to be formed in the SG and LG. As a result, the MP shape and write field are more reproducible. To compensate for a thinner MP thickness at the air bearing surface that results from maintaining the track width at a shallower SG angle, an upper MP tip may be formed on the lower MP tip thereby generating a hexagonal shape for the combined MP tip. In this case, the second FG device conforms to the shape of the two upper MP tip sides and trailing side.

    Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording writer has a main pole (MP) with a first flux guiding (FG) device in a write gap between the MP trailing side and a trailing shield, a second FG device in each side gap and adjoining a MP side, and third FG device in the leading gap and adjoining the MP leading side. At least one of a first and second non-magnetic conductive layer (NMC1 and NMC2) contacts the third FG device and second FG devices, respectively, instead of a conventional leading shield and side shield. Each FG device has a flux guiding layer (FGL) with a magnetization that flips to oppose a gap flux field when a current is applied across the respective gap thereby enhancing the MP write field. NMC1 and NMC2 allow better wear and corrosion resistance in addition to improved return field and down-track field gradient, and acceptable side shield stray field.

    Abstract: A Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) monitoring system includes server devices that each provide a respective HCI system that is part of an HCI cluster. A communication queue and a manager subsystem are provided on at least one of the server devices. The manager subsystem provides, in the communication queue, first workload code that is configured to run on a first server device and that is associated with a first HCI system identifier for a first HCI system provided by the first server device. The first HCI system accesses the communication queue, retrieves the first workload code in response to the first workload code being associated with the first HCI system identifier, executes the first workload code, and provides associated results to the communication queue. The manager subsystem retrieves, from the communication queue, the first results, and reports at least one of the first results to an administrator device.

    Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording writer has a main pole (MP) with a write gap formed between the MP trailing side and a trailing shield, a side gap between each MP side and a side shield, and a leading gap between the MP leading side and a leading shield. A flux guiding element is formed in at least one gap and comprises an inner non-spin preserving layer adjoining the MP, a middle flux guiding layer (FGL), and an outer spin preserving layer. A key feature is that the FGL has a magnetization that may be aligned anti-parallel to a gap field during a write process when a current of sufficient magnitude is applied from the adjacent shield towards the MP thereby increasing reluctance in the gap and forcing additional flux out of the MP at the air bearing surface to enhance writability on a magnetic recording medium.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for reducing and eliminating defects in tungsten film are disclosed herein. In the present disclosure, reducing or eliminating oxidation of a first surface of a tungsten film having a predetermined first thickness disposed upon a substrate and within a plurality of trenches is disclosed. The plurality of trenches include a predetermined depth, and a width of less than 20 nanometers. The predetermined first thickness of the tungsten film is substantially uniform throughout the plurality of trenches such that the predetermined first thickness of the tungsten film does not substantially change to a second thickness when the first surface is contacted with air or oxygen.
