  • Patent number: 4506709
Abstract: A filling element, used for dispensing non-carbonated or carbonated liquids having a high, a low, or no electrolytic conductivity includes a signal emitter embodied in the form of a cylindrical capacitor having an inner and an outer cylindrical electrode. The filling element is usable for single or multi-chamber counterpressure filling machines having a lower valve housing which is provided with a pressurized gas chamber, and having a filling tube which is held by a contact pin for a filling height signal emitter, which contact pin is longitudinally movable in the valve housing. The signal emitter is essentially formed in that the liquid conveying part of the filling tube is insulated relative to the valve housing, and is embodied as an inner cylindrical electrode which is in contact with the contact pin.

  • Patent number: 4453708
Abstract: A mechanism for transporting and positioning printing plates in a processing unit comprising a plate holder for storing printing plates which are to be transported to an exposure table, said plate holder being pivotable between a horizontal position and a vertical position and abutting a pair of roller guides when it is in its vertical position, a horizontally displaceable suction means for grasping the foremost printing plate of a supply of plates in the plate holder by its uncoated reverse side, and for transporting the printing plate to a position above a gripping device, and opposed positioning means arranged above this gripping device, at least one of these positioning means being displaceable toward the other to position and maintain a printing plate in a predetermined desired position.

  • Patent number: 4394085
Abstract: A processing station for charging, exposing and developing printing plates comprising an exposure table, two corona devices, a developing unit and an optical scanning exposure device; said exposure table being adapted to be rotated through 180.degree. about a pin and comprising two superposed tables which are arranged in such a way that their suction plates form the topside and the underside of the exposure table; said two corona devices being arranged symmetrically with respect to a developer roll, on a carriage underneath the exposure table; the said carriage being horizontally displaceable forward and backward with the aid of a drive means.

  • Patent number: 4389156
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for lifting, gripping and transporting printing plates in a processing apparatus of the type in which the printing plates are fixed by suction on a processing table during processing at individual stations of the apparatus. The device comprises a lifting device, positioned below the processing table, for lifting a printing plate positioned on the table, movable in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus, and a gripping member positioned above the processing table for gripping a printing plate lifted off of the processing table by the lifting device.

  • Patent number: 4375285
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for transporting printing plates, having one coated and one uncoated surface, stacked in a holder to an exposure and developing station and for positioning them, comprising a holder for holding a plurality of printing plates stacked in alternating relationship with a plurality of separating sheets and a device for selectively positioning the holder substantially perpendicularly to the direction of transport of the printing plates so that the uncoated surface of each printing plate faces toward the direction of transport. A suction device engages the uncoated side of the first printing plate from the stack in the holder, and a device, movable horizontally in the direction of transport, is provided for transporting the suction device between a first position adjacent to the holder and a second position displaced from the first position in the direction of transport, to withdraw the engaged printing plate from the stack.

  • Patent number: 4166590
Abstract: Disclosed is a process and an apparatus for use therewith for maintaining a constant material web speed during winding of the material onto a driven roll. The process comprises adjusting the speed of the drive motor of the roll to be linearly proportioned to its control voltage; and, as the diameter of the roll increases due to the winding of material thereon, reducing the speed of the drive motor in accordance with a hyperbolic curve relating motor speed to the diameter of the roll characteristic of the winding operation.

  • Patent number: 3998547
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for automatically changing the illumination intensity of a light source in a copying apparatus in which the transparency of the original is measured with at least one light-sensitive measuring unit and in which, based on the measured transparency, a signal is passed on from this measuring unit for controlling the speed of a drive motor, comprising comparing the signal coming from the light-sensitive measuring unit and passed on for controlling the speed of the drive motor with a predetermined signal corresponding to the highest speed of the drive motor and, if the measured signal requires a higher speed than that of the predetermined signal, the difference of the two signals is formed and the illumination intensity is controlled in correspondence with this difference signal. The invention also relates to an apparatus for performing the process.

  • Patent number: 3985440
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for automatic exposure time control in the exposure of light-sensitive copying material; comprising, photoelectrically measuring the illumination in the plane of the copying material, comparing the voltage produced by the photoelectric measuring means with a reference voltage, which is inversely proportional to time, during exposure, and terminating exposure when a predetermined difference between the two voltages is reached. The invention also includes an apparatus for performing the process.
