  • Publication number: 20100200618
Abstract: In order to manufacture a closure having an improved seal and lower degree of wear at more reasonable cost, a closure is proposed, the closure comprising an upper part (5), a lower part (4) and a conveying sleeve (6) with a sealing pin (65). On the lower part (4) there are two concentric, upwardly directed annular walls (48) which interact under prestress with two corresponding, concentrically downwardly directed annular walls (500) on the upper part (5), which annular walls are directed downwards. The lower part (4) and the conveying sleeve (6) can be manufactured integrally via predetermined breaking point bridges (600), thus making it possible to obtain a cost-saving method of assembly.

  • Publication number: 20100140293
Abstract: Metering devices, particularly for adhesives and sealants, that can be placed on a flexible container by means of an adapted ring, a lever being connected to the ring, and pressing against the container, are known. The invention relates to a metering device whereon the lever is connected to the ring via a deformable spring plate. A push button is formed onto the lever as an extension. Thus, the one-piece metering device is inexpensive and can be produced without needing to be assembled.

  • Patent number: 5558116
Abstract: A metering cap in which a first component of a flowable material is squeezed out of a cartridge (C) which can be emptied by means of a press (P). The main component flows through a feed line (8) to an outlet line (11) and, in the process, drives two rotors (31) seated in a metering chamber (9) in a housing (1). Gear wheels (34) are seated on the shafts (30) of the rotors (31), which mesh with each other and, in this way, form a gear pump (24). The gear pump (24) conveys an admixing component from an integrated container (18) through a second feed line (23) into the outlet line (11). At least two components can be admixed in a metered manner in an extremely exact ratio to each other by the metering cap of this invention.

  • Patent number: 5558239
Abstract: A snap-on, plastic hinged closure in a single piece having a bottom part and a lid interconnected by an integral hinge in an area of superimposed outer walls of the bottom part and lid, as well as by at least one intermediate element that ensures the snap-on effect. The hinge includes at least two non-intersecting pivot axes. A pressure-resistant tilting element is arranged between two adjacent pivot axes, so that during opening or closing, the first bottom part and the tilting element, then the tilting element and the lid partially pivot around the corresponding pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 5501377
Abstract: A rotatable central sealing pin cap having a stationary part and a detachable pouring screw cap, each with engagable threads, an axial stop and a twist stop. A plurality of pre-assembly positions or intermediate positions can be defined. A twist stop is provided that limits rotational motion of the detachable pouring screw cap with respect to the stationary part beyond the completely open and the completely closed positions. At the same time, the detachable pouring screw cap is sealed to the stationary part to prevent an undesired backflow into the threaded region.

  • Patent number: 5494185
Abstract: A plastic closure having a lower part attachable to a container, and a cap which is connected with the lower part by a main film hinge. A spring element engages the lower part and the cap, and also bridges an axis of rotation of the main film hinge and thus generates a snap effect. The main film hinge extends continuously through an area in which the main film hinge is bridged by the spring element. In a closed state of the plastic closure, each spring element is hidden completely within the closed closure.

  • Patent number: 5435456
Abstract: A plastic snap hinge closure having a film hinge which connects a lower part to an upper part. At least one tension element having two opposite end portions is connected to a closure wall of the lower part and the upper part. Each tension element preferably has a cross section with an overall sinuous shape. A continuously elastic strap section of each tension element has an inner side and an outer side. The inner side has a plurality of inner grooves which are spaced and preferably positioned approximately parallel with respect to each other. The outer side has a plurality of outer grooves which are spaced and preferably positioned approximately parallel with respect to each other. An inner land is positioned between two adjacent inner grooves and an outer land is positioned between two adjacent outer grooves.

  • Patent number: 5392938
Abstract: A one-piece snap hinge closure of plastic having a lower part and an upper part connected with each other via a film hinge. The intactness of the closure is assured by a security band. The security band is injection-molded to the upper part via bars which are used as predetermined breaking points. A bar on the lower part is engaged with the security band. The bar on the lower part can be placed in such a way that in the security position of the closure it is attached behind a tab on the upper part.

  • Patent number: 5356018
Abstract: A plastic closure comprising a base part fixed on a container and a cap connected to said base part in one piece by a hinge. A gripping area is disposed diametrically opposite said hinge and is at least partially covered by a security element disposed on said base part. Securing means are provided on one part of said closure and on said security element, said securing means forming an interlocking connection prior to the first opening of the closure. The securing means comprise interlocking means disposed on the security element and directed toward the casing wall of the cap, which fit interlockingly with at least one corresponding recess in the cap aligned therewith.

  • Patent number: 5322176
Abstract: A plastic snap hinge having a lower part and a cap connected to each other by a single or multi-part main hinge and a flexible element which generates a snap action. The flexible element is connected to the lower part and the cap by film hinges integral with the lower part and the cap. The flexible element has a shape which is folded repeatedly and which is such that a straight line penetrating the flexible element intersects the flexible element at least at three points. The construction allows the design of plastic tops with a flat, cap having an extremely large angle of opening and a strong snap action.

  • Patent number: 5263475
Abstract: An inhaler for introducing a metered amount of solids, for example pharmaceutically active powders, into a stream of air drawn in by a user comprises a storage chamber into which a metering rod extends. The metering rod is provided with a metering recess which fixes the amount of solids to be mixed with the air stream. The storage chamber and the metering rod are movable relative to each other in such a manner that in a first relative position of the metering rod and the storage chamber the metering recess of the metering rod is located in the storage chamber, where it is filled with solids, and in a second relative position it is located in the air channel, where the solids are mixed with the air stream. The axial relative movement can be brought about by the rotation of two housing parts over sloping surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5257708
Abstract: A plastic snap hinge closure having tension elements disposed on a plastic closure including a lower part and an upper part which are connected with each other via a main hinge A desired snap effect is achieved by means of lengths of the tension elements which can be changed by the action of a pull. The tension elements extend in planes between the attachment points. Each tension element has partial sections which cause the change in length. The partial sections are either C-shaped, U-shaped, or O-shaped. The tension elements permit a maximum percentage change of length of each tension element of approximately 10% to 50%.

  • Patent number: 5115931
Abstract: The closure consists of a lower part (1) and a cap (2), which are connected to each other by at least one film hinge (3). Spring elements (4) integrally formed from the jacket walls of the two closure parts are disposed on both sides of the film hinge (3). The thickness of the spring elements (4) varies between the shoulder points (5) of the spring elements. In the area of the shoulder points the thickness is approximately the same as the wall thickness of the jacket walls, and in the center, that is, in the area extending over the plane of separation, it is considerably less. The variation of the wall thickness permits a customer-specific adaptation of the snap action of the closure without having to make it in a completely new way every time.

  • Patent number: 5094361
Abstract: A closure for a rigid or deformable container. The contents of the container are protected by a seal. The closure has a bottom part and a cap fixed thereon by a hinge. The lower part is closed by a cover face, through which only a pouring spout extends. A tear-off element is positioned on an underside of the cap in such a way that it extends through the pouring spout as far as the seal located below it. The tear-off element is in active contact with the seal, for example, it is bonded or glued to it. At the time of a first opening, the tear-off element pulls the seal upwards, which is simultaneously broken by a cutting element below the pouring spout. Such closures are structurally simple in their manufacture as well as in operation and can be attached to various types of containers.
