  • Patent number: 4556308
Abstract: An electrostatographic reproducing apparatus using a removable processing cartridge containing at least one electrostatographic processing unit together with cartridge mounting means to the main frame of the reproducing apparatus is described. The mounting means comprises a pair of locating pivot pins, one on each side of the main frame and a pair of cartridge latch blocks adjacent said locating pins, one on each side of the main frame; with the cartridge mounting means attached to the cartridge comprising a pair of mounting hinge slots, one on each side of one end of said cartridge which are positioned for cooperative engagement with the pair of locating pivot pins on the main frame, and a pair of mounting pins, one on each side of one end of the cartridge adjacent the mounting hinge slots which are positioned for cooperative engagement with the pair of cartridge latch blocks on the main frame of the reproducing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4431177
Abstract: Sheet offsetting and registering apparatus including a sheet transport to transport a sheet to a receiving station; sheet restrainer to restrain the sheet during a portion of the transport path adjacent the receiving station, an offset registration member positioned along an edge of the sheet transport adjacent the portion of the transport path having the sheet restrainer and being movable laterally with a directional component perpendicular to the direction of sheet transport, and a pivotally mounted arm to laterally move the offset registration member perpendicular to the direction of sheet transport as said sheet is transported past the registration member to gently tap the edge of the sheet and offset and register it during its path of travel. In a specific embodiment the sheet restrainer is a rotatable inverting and stacking wheel with at least one arcuate sheet retaining slot into which a sheet may be inserted such that its beam strength is increased.

  • Patent number: 4027963
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus having a plurality of modes of operation. The apparatus includes a moving imaging surface. In a first mode of operation a stationary document is viewed and an image thereof is projected onto the imaging surface. In a second mode a document moving at a first speed synchronized to the speed of the moving imaging surface is viewed, and an image thereof is projected onto the imaging surface at a desired magnification. In a third mode a document moving at a second speed synchronized to the speed of the moving imaging surface is viewed and an image thereof is projected onto the surface at a reduced magnification. An arrangement for selecting the desired mode of operation is provided.

  • Patent number: 3947111
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for feeding individual sheets. The apparatus includes means for feeding the sheets which comprises at least one roll. Means are included for biasing the roll against the sheet with a first force normal to the sheet for a sheet having a thickness up to a first thickness and for step-wise increasing the first force to a second force normal to the sheet for sheets having a thickness greater than the first thickness. A reproducing apparatus including the above-noted sheet feeding apparatus is also provided.
