  • Publication number: 20200355661
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method for partial conversion of a fluid sample comprising a plurality of components and a process for on-line determination and analysis of components of a fluid sample comprising a plurality of components. The invention also relates to the use of the device as a sample treatment device.

  • Patent number: 6982416
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for assessing the state of organisms and natural products wherein one or more substances are determined in a gaseous mixture, determination being effected by a mass spectrometer wherein an ion beam acts on the sample of gaseous mixture in high vacuum in such a way that the test molecules are ionized with the aid of the internal energy of the ions of the ion beam, and the values obtained upon determination are evaluated for assessing the state. Further, the invention relates to a method for analyzing a gaseous mixture with one or more main components and one or more secondary components wherein at least one main component is determined in the concentration range greater than or equal to 0.1 percent by volume and one secondary component in the concentration range of less than or equal to 0.

  • Patent number: 5523565
Abstract: Inspection of PET bottles for contamination is performed with a mass spectrometer in which the gas sample is ionized by an ionized primary gas. This causes greatly reduced fragmentation, or unambiguous fragmentation, of the gas sample. As a consequence, the spectrum obtained is very meaningful on its own, and can be interpreted very rapidly, which is an essential prerequisite for the use of mass spectrometers in industrial inspection.

  • Patent number: 4975576
Abstract: For identifying the concentration of individual types of molecules in a gas mixture, the gas mixture to be investigated is subjected to a selective pre-treatment and the product of this pre-treatment is then mass-spectrometrically investigated. For separate concentration identification of molecules having identical molecular mass, the gas mixture is ionized with primary ions that have an internal energy slightly above that required for generating product ions representing the respective type of molecule of interest and that have a pulse energy of such an amount that the kinetic effect on the ionization is negligible in comparison to the influence of the internal energy. The mass-spectrometric investigation then supplies the sought concentration of the individual type of molecule in a simple and precise fashion.
