  • Patent number: 9631978
Abstract: In the method of hair color consultation, actual individual images of a person are continuously recorded by a video camera and are input into a computer in a continuous sequence in real time. Automatic image editing and processing is carried out in real time, in which the computer continuously marks hair regions of the individual images by an automatic analysis of close and similar pixel color values, of contiguous texture, and/or of contiguous morphological properties, and changes hair color of the hair regions according to predetermined specifications. Then the modified individual images with the changed hair color are displayed on the at least one screen and/or touch screen in real time so that the desired hair color may be selected. An apparatus for performing the method is also described.

  • Patent number: 5560121
Abstract: The energy-efficient hand-held device for treating an object with a flow of hot air includes a handle for positioning it in relation to the object, a blower for producing an air flow; a heating device for heating the air flow from the blower; a sensor device for determining when an interruption in the treating of the object with the hot air is or is not occurring; and a device for turning off or turning on the heating device and, if desired, the blower in response to a signal from the sensor device. The sensor device can be a light or ultrasonic transmitter and receiver which detects the presence or absence of reflected light or ultrasonic waves from the object and measures the distance to the object to determine if it is greater than or less than a threshold distance (S). Other embodiments are described.

  • Patent number: 5511322
Abstract: In a process for treating an object by a hot-air flow directed on the object by a hand-held air blower which is provided with a heating device and a fan, the heating device is controlled proportionally as a function of distance. The hand-held air blower has a distance detecting device for carrying out the process. The distance detecting device has an output for determined measured distance values. Proportional control signals for controlling the output control device are formed by a comparison device from the measured distance values and from a given temperature value of a temperature selector.

  • Patent number: 5311339
Abstract: A liquid-crystal display has a liquid-crystal cell (1) which is formed of two substrates (2) spaced apart from each other, and is filled with a nematic liquid-crystal substance (4). On the cell inner-space side, electrode layers (3) which can be acted on by voltage are arranged on the substrates (2). On the cell outside space side, a double-refracting compensation layer extends over the cell surface. Liquid-crystal cell (1) and compensation layer are arranged between two polarization filters (11). The compensation layer is developed over its surface with a plurality of regions adjacent to each other. The amount of the double refraction of the regions differs from each other by a small amount.

  • Patent number: 4768863
Abstract: In a liquid crystal cell having two substrates which are spaced apart from each other and form between themselves a cell space filled with liquid crystal substance, the lines and electrodes which are applied on both substrates are applied as superimposed layers insulated from each other, the lines being transparent. In this way, substantially better utilization of the surface of the liquid crystal cell is obtained than in the case of the known liquid cells in which lines and electrodes are arranged alongside of each other.

  • Patent number: 4676603
Abstract: The invention concerns a multiplexable liquid crystal cell having two substrates 1 and 3 spaced apart from each other. Between them a cell chamber filled with liquid-crystal substance is formed. Strip electrodes 2 are arranged on the substrate 1 and picture electrodes 4 are arranged on the substrate 3. The picture electrodes 4 are connected via metal-insulator-metal elements to data lines 5 which are also arranged on the substrate 3, the insulator being arranged on a side surface 12 of the picture electrode 4 and a connecting contact leads from the side of the insulator facing away from the picture electrode to the data line 5. A conductive layer 6 is arranged which covers the region of the edge of the picture electrode 4 and the region adjacent to it of the substrate 3, said layer consisting of a conductive material which is oxidized on its free surface, forming an oxidation layer.
