  • Patent number: 4409808
Abstract: The invention concerns a process and device for the manufacture of blisters with high barrier properties using metal-plastic composite foils which can be deep drawn, in particular an aluminum-plastic composite foil which is clamped firmly in the clamping facility of a device for manufacturing blisters. The process is such that the composite foil is pre-stretched in a first step and then shaped into a blister in a second step.

  • Patent number: 4403010
Abstract: Processes for manufacturing a metal-plastic composite foil having a plastic core covered on both sides with an outer layer of thin metal strip, in particular aluminum thin strip, are already known. However, the use of a so-called triplex composite of the kind just mentioned for relatively large volume containers of full weight up to about 30 kg has been very limited because of the unsatisfactory deep drawing properties of such composites in deep drawing or deep drawing by elongation of the foil (stretching). By means of the invention a process for manufacturing a metal-plastic composite of the so-called triplex composite kind and a metal-plastic composite foil made by this said process have been developed which allow in particular the manufacture of semi-rigid light-weight containers which have a weight of up to about 30 kg when full and this even by cold forming.

  • Patent number: 4289009
Abstract: The invention concerns a process and a device for manufacturing blisters with high barrier properties from a metal-plastic composite foil which can be deep drawn, in particular from an aluminum-plastic composite foil which is held fast in the clamping facility of a device for manufacturing blisters. In shaping the foil into one or more blisters, pressure is applied pneumatically or pneumatically and hydraulically to at least one side of the foil which stretches onto and over a lubricating layer or easy slip plate on the base of a die.

  • Patent number: 4274541
Abstract: A closure system for containers, particularly semi-rigid containers has inlet- and outlet opening which can be varied in size, and can be covered by an adhesive strip. A tongue is formed by an essentially U-shaped cut in the container wall and may be raised up for opening the filling opening of the container, and on the innermost side of the container wall, on the area beyond the hinge line of the tongue, a piece of foil is adhesively fixed or sealed on which--on opening the closure system by tearing further the tongue cut line at its ends to form a larger emptying opening--is suitable for guiding the tear along its edge and thus determines the course of the tear lines.

  • Patent number: 4215782
Abstract: A non-returnable container is made from at least two dish-shaped parts which have outward facing flanges joined together by a sealed seam and is intended for holding liquid and/or pasty, granular and/or powdery substances. The flanges of the dish-shaped parts, which are made of a metal-plastic composite are joined together by means of at least one sealed seam and are held in a bent position by means of a holding device.

  • Patent number: 4172914
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of an Al/plastic laminate foil is described. The laminate comprises an aluminum foil with plastic foil stuck on to at least one of its sides whereby the plastic foils exhibits an elongation at fraction of 80-100% and the adhesive joining the components achieves a shear strength of at least 0.3 N/mm.sup.2. The plastic foils bear a greater part of the applied load when the laminate foil is stressed. The laminate foil is suitable for the manufacture of containers by deep drawing whereby no cracks or macropores form in the Al foil. The laminate effectively excludes light, water vapor and aromas from external sources and prevents the loss of aroma from the contents of such containers.
