  • Patent number: 5507387
Abstract: To retain an electric lamp in position within the box, in which the elect lamp has a base with projecting terminal pins (21), in such a manner that the pins (21) cannot push through and extend from the box. The box is formed with dust flaps (10, 11) which are folded inwardly to form an essentially triangular, inwardly extended projection or bridge. The so folded dust flaps (10, 11) are formed at their free ends with interengaging teeth and recesses, the interengaging apex of the triangular support structure engaging against the base (20a) of the lamp and forming a corner with one of the sidewalls (3) in which the pins (21) from the lamp (20) can fit, while the lamp itself is securely retained in immovable position of the box. The angle of the dust flaps (10, 11) with respect to the adjacent sidewalls (1, 3) can suitably vary within about 45 and 70 degrees.

  • Patent number: 5503273
Abstract: To securely retain a multi-unit folded fluorescent lamp (L) having a gap d, 21d) between adjacent legs of the lamp in position in an elongated box (1'), the box is formed from a blank (1) having a top panel (15) which overlies an intermediate panel (16) of lesser width than the top panel, from which at least a first retention flap (19a) extends in a first gap between the two legs of the lamp. A second retention flap (19b) is cut, along a severing line (19c), from the intermediate panel element (16) and folded along a fold or crease line (21) to fit into the gap between other legs of the discharge vessel or discharge vessel unit of the lamp. The retention flaps (19a, 19b) retain the lamp and support the legs in case of vibration or shock due to transport.

  • Patent number: 5291998
Abstract: To permit reuse of shipping boxes and shipping holders for elongated artis having a transverse flange, particularly automotive-type halogen lamps, a stackable carrier plate (1) is formed with article receptors (2) which each include an engagement surface (4) which is tilted by an acuate angle (.alpha.) of, for example, about 13.degree. with respect to the major plane of the plate. The engagement surface is apertured so that the articles can hang at the receptors, with the flange engaging the engagement surface, the angle being selected to place the elongated portion (3b, 3e) of the articles below the plate between the elongated portion (3d) of the article which is above the engagement surface of a lower plate (1') in the stack.
