  • Publication number: 20170100852
Abstract: A guide bar for a saw chain has oppositely arranged outer side faces facing away from each other. A guide groove is formed on a peripheral edge of the guide bar and receives and guides the saw chain. The guide bar has a longitudinal center axis and extends lengthwise in a length direction along the longitudinal center axis. A rearward clamping end is provided for securing the guide bar. A leading deflecting section deflects the saw chain and the deflecting section is arranged opposite the rearward clamping end in the length direction. A cutout is formed between the rearward clamping end and the leading deflecting section. A weight-reducing insert is inserted into the cutout and is provided with external elevations that are projecting past a plane of the sides faces of the guide bar.

  • Patent number: 8353110
Abstract: A motorized saw has a guide rail which is arranged on at least one clamping stud and can be clamped in place between two bearing surfaces by clamping means. A clamping element is provided which is arranged on the clamping stud and in a locating opening of the guide rail and which fixes the guide rail in at least one radial direction of the clamping stud in the clamped state. A clamping element has at least one clamping surface which is formed at an end face of the clamping element and which encloses an angle of less than 90° with the longitudinal center axis of an opening of the clamping element.

  • Publication number: 20110010952
Abstract: A guide bar for the saw chain of a power saw, including an elongated, planar main body having an outer periphery that is provided with a guide groove for guiding a saw chain. A direction-changing section is disposed at a free end of the guide bar and includes two side plates. At least one rivet is provided for securing the side plates to the main body, with the rivet extending through an opening in the main body. On at least one side of the main body, the opening is provided with a flared depression for receiving an adjacent element.

  • Publication number: 20090151173
Abstract: A guide bar arrangement has a guide bar having a guide groove that extends about an outer circumference of the guide bar. A saw chain is driven in circulation in the guide groove about the guide bar. The guide groove is delimited by a groove base, a first sidewall and a second sidewall positioned opposite the first sidewall. The guide bar has an opening for supply of oil into the guide groove, wherein the opening extends from an exterior side of the guide bar, wherein the exterior side extends in a longitudinal direction of the guide bar, into the guide groove and opens in the first sidewall into the guide groove. An insert is secured in the opening and reduces a free flow cross-sectional area of the opening.

  • Patent number: 6588110
Abstract: The invention relates to a guide bar for a motor-driven chain saw comprising an elongated planar base body which has a guide groove (8) in its outer periphery for guiding a saw chain (6). The saw chain (6) includes cutting links (14), lateral connecting links (12) and center drive links (10). The links are pivotally connected to each other with rivets (18). The drive links (10) engage with rakers (11) in the guide groove (8); whereas, the connecting links (12) are supported on guide surfaces (9) provided laterally of the guide groove (8). The guide bar (3) is fixed to the housing (2) of the motor-driven chain saw (1) at its attachment end (4) and the free tip (22) of the guide bar (3) has a direction-changing section (21) for the saw chain (6). In the region of the direction-changing section (21), guide plates (23, 43) are attached to the guide bar (3).
