  • Patent number: 5082504
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a mixture of sucrose oxidation products which contains a salt of sucrosetricarboxylic acid and which is obtained by reaction of sucrose with oxygen in an aqueous medium in the presence of a platinum metal/active carbon catalyst at elevated temperatures and neutralization of the reaction product to convert into the salt form, which comprises the reaction being carried out discontinuously, the starting materials being heated stepwise over the course of several hours from room temperature up to 60.degree. to 95.degree. C. and then the reaction product being isolated where appropriate. The oxidation products obtained in this way have, in particular, improved washing properties.

  • Patent number: 5078895
Abstract: The invention relates to a washing agent with a storage-stabilized bleach system and 2 to 20% by weight of detergents and conventional washing auxiliaries, including fillers, the washing agent containing 10 to 50% by weight of a crystalline layered silicate as a builder as well as 1 to 5% by weight of tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED) and a bleach, the quantity of bleach being such that 0.5 to 4% by weight of washing-active oxygen (AVOX) is present in the washing agent.

  • Patent number: 4950310
Abstract: X-ray crystalline sodium silicates having a sheet structure and an SiO.sub.2 :Na.sub.2 O molar ratio of 1.9 to 3.5 are prepared by dissolving an X-ray crystalline sodium silicate having a sheet structure and an SiO.sub.2 /Na.sub.2 O molar ratio of 1.9:1 to 3.5:1 in water and evaporating the solution at temperatures of 20.degree. to 445.degree. C.For the preparation of detergents or cleaners, a mixture of surfactants and builders, which may also contain fillers, bleaching agents, bleach activators and enzymes, is made into a paste with water, mixed with an X-ray crystalline sheet sodium silicate having an SiO.sub.2 /Na.sub.2 O molar ratio of 1.9:1 to 3.5:1, mixed thoroughly and then spray-dried.

  • Patent number: 4749758
Abstract: Process for the preparation of polymers of vinylphosphonic acid in water with the aid of catalysts which form free radicals, which comprises heating vinylphosphonic acid and (meth)acrylic acid to temperatures of 40.degree. to 120.degree. C. in water in the presence of 1 to 5.5% by weight of aliphatic peroxy esters and/or diacyl peroxides which dissociate by half in one hour at temperatures below 122.degree. C., the total amount of vinylphosphonic acid being taken together with up to 30% by weight, based on the total amount of monomer, of (meth)acrylic acid and the remainder of the (meth)acrylic acid being added in the course of the reaction. The copolymers are suitable for use in detergent and cleaning agents.

  • Patent number: 4728443
Abstract: A textile softening detergent composition contains from 5 to 70 wgt % surfactant, from 0.5 to 50 wgt % builder, from 1 to 20 wgt % crystalline laminated silicic acid and/or a corresponding alkali metal silicate and standard detergent aids. It is characterized in that the crystalline laminated silicic acid or its alkali metal salt of the general formulaM.sub.2 Si.sub.x O.sub.2x+1 .multidot.y H.sub.2 Oin which x stands for a number larger than 7.0, M stands for sodium, potassium or hydrogen, and y stands for a number of from 0 to 25, shows one or more reflexes unassignable to quartz, tridymite and cristobalite in the X-ray diffraction diagram in the range of the d-values of 3.0-4.0.multidot.10.sup.-8 cm. Process for rinsing textiles using the crystalline laminated silic acid or its alkali metal salts as a textile softening agent.
