  • Publication number: 20070197330
Abstract: A method for producing a rocker pressure member forming part of a chain hinge joint for a plate-link chain. A shaped wire is embossed along at least a predetermined segment in the longitudinal direction, and then a separation is made at that segment. A stamping apparatus for producing a rocker pressure member from a shaped wire is provided, with a housing which includes a lower housing half as a die and an upper housing half to guide at least one stamping die for embossing the shaped wire.

  • Patent number: 7048657
Abstract: A transmission with a drive side and an output side conical disk pair. One conical disk pair includes a fixed disk carried by a shaft, a movable disk non-rotatably connected with and axially movable relative to the shaft, and a support ring axially attached to the shaft adjacent a back side of the movable disk. A pressure chamber between the support ring and the back side of the movable disk is supplied with hydraulic pressure medium through a passage in the shaft that opens to the surface of the shaft. An end region of the movable disk when moved along the shaft passes over the opening at a maximum spacing of the movable disk from the fixed disk, and a hydraulic medium connection exists between the passage and the pressure chamber through drainage slots between an inner surface of the movable disk and the peripheral surface of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6676552
Abstract: A drive chain suitable for use in a continuously variable transmission of a motor vehicle. The transmission has two pairs of spaced drive members about which the chain passes to transfer torque from one drive member to the other. The chain includes a plurality of link elements that include spaced, side-by-side plate links. The plate links include openings in which pairs of parallel rocker members are disposed for relative rocking movement of at least one rocker member about its longitudinal axis. The rocker members extend outwardly beyond the plate links and are retained in position by retaining members that engage particular rocker members. A method for stretching the chain is also disclosed in which areas of some of the plate links are plastically deformed before the chain is put to use.
