  • Patent number: 10953454
Abstract: A method may be utilized to produce a steering spindle part configured as a hollow shaft and having a connecting portion at its end. At least a part of the connecting portion includes increased wall thickness relative to a portion of the steering spindle part adjoining the connecting portion. The method may involve providing a circular, hollow cylindrical tube with an inner surface that is smooth in a circumferential direction, providing a circular, hollow cylindrical sleeve with an outer surface that is smooth in a circumferential direction, inserting the sleeve into an end portion of the tube, and jointly deforming the end portion of the tube and the sleeve such that a flow of material occurs. This flow may form positively locking elements on the tube and the sleeve that engage into one another in the circumferential direction and generate positive locking in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 10634184
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a profiled hollow shaft for a telescopic steering shaft of a motor vehicle. A hollow shaft to be machined and a roller forming head having at least one roller are provided. A groove is produced in the hollow shaft by moving the hollow shaft relative to the roller forming head. In order to provide an improved and less expensive method for producing a profiled hollow shaft for a telescopic steering shaft of a motor vehicle, the hollow shaft is moved relative to the roller forming head exclusively in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hollow shaft. The disclosure also relates to a steering shaft having rolling body raceways.

  • Patent number: 10619666
Abstract: A steering shaft for a motor vehicle, comprises an outer shaft which is configured as a hollow shaft and an inner shaft which is arranged coaxially in the hollow shaft. The inner shaft can be telescoped relative to the hollow shaft in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the steering shaft, and is connected to the hollow shaft in a torque-transmitting manner via at least one positively locking element. A securing apparatus with at least one stop element is attached on an end region of the hollow shaft which faces the inner shaft. A stop face is arranged in the opening cross section of the hollow shaft and faces the hollow shaft in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
