    Abstract: An ink composition for a meltable ink usable in a printing device in which ink drops are ejected from ink ducts, which comprises agents which reversibly cross-link the ink, the said agents containing a gelling agent. When an ink drop which has been transferred to a substrate passes over into a gel during the cooling process, the consequence is that the viscosity of the melted ink drop increases greatly so that the drops become relatively immobile. In this way the ink drops are prevented from uncontrollably flowing into the paper. As a result, inks of this kind are suitable for use on both porous and smooth substrates. In addition, these inks have been found suitable for use in a printing device in which printed substrates are subjected to thermal after-treatment.

    Abstract: An x-ray diagnostic installation has a video display system connected to the output of an x-ray image intensifier, the video system including a subtraction stage with a weighting circuit connected to an image memory for suppressing image noise the subtraction stage also having a difference forming element for subtracting image information arising at different times. The output of the difference forming stage is supplied to a threshold circuit and the output of the threshold circuit is read into another image memory picture element-by-picture element. This memory is connected to the weighting circuit such that the output thereof controls the parameters of the weighting circuit picture element-by-picture element. A filter circuit may be interconnected between the output of this memory and the weighting circuit.

    Abstract: An air-cooled, reciprocating piston, internal combustion engine has at least two adjacent cylinder barrels with a plurality of cooling ribs lying substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the barrels on at least part of the periphery thereof. The intake ports of the cylinder heads are located on the cooling air inlet side while the exhaust ports are located on the cooling air outlet side, and an air deflection cover overlies the cylinder barrels on the cooling air outlet side. The cylinder barrels are provided on the cooling air outlet side with cooling ribs lying substantially parallel to the longitudinal axes of the cylinder barrels. The air deflecting cover is of a configuration such that at least some of the cooling air flowing, in the area adjoining the crankcase, around and between adjacent cylinder barrels, is deflected toward these parallel lying ribs, so that essentially the total flow of cooling air supplied may be used to cool the hottest area of a cylinder barrels.

    Abstract: The filter arrangement for an X-ray apparatus contains an X-ray source for emitting a diverging beam of X-rays and a filter plate positioned in the beam of X-rays. The beam is symmetrical with respect to a center beam axis. The filter plate which serves for attenuation of the X-rays before they impinge on a target is mounted on a pivoting axis. The pivoting axis is preferably arranged remote from and transverse to the center beam axis. By pivoting the filter plate about the pivoting axis into a selected position, a selected radiation profile can be obtained on the target. The rotatable filter plate can thus replace a plurality of wedge filters.
