  • Patent number: 9481947
Abstract: A method for monitoring contact of a rotating component of a textile machine, in particular of a clothing roller of a card, for example a card cylinder, with a further component of the textile machine. The two components are connected to an electrical power source, but are normally electrically isolated from each other, and only in the case of a contact between the two components, a short-circuit is generated, which is detected by the monitoring device. The duration of individual short-circuits per time unit (T) is detected and summed up so as to form a total duration (t) of all short-circuits per time unit (T).

  • Publication number: 20040070847
Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining points of disturbances in a fibrous planar structure. The planar structure is conveyed past a receiver having an array of photodiodes. The photodiodes determine the brightness of the planar structure and compares the received brightness value to threshold values. Brightness values in excess of a predetermined threshold value are deemed to be disturbances in the fibrous planar surface.

  • Patent number: 5535481
Abstract: In a textile machine with a drafting arrangement and textile spindles, the spindles are driven by an electric main drive. The drafting arrangement cylinders are coupled so that their speed is a given proportion of the speed of the main drive. The coupling is via a position-controlled brushless D.C. motor with electronic commutation for driving the drafting arrangement. An additional flywheel mass on the drafting arrangement drive is dimensioned so that the slowing-down time of the drafting arrangement is of the same order as the slowing-down time of the main drive, resulting in controlled slowing-down conditions if the voltage suddenly fails. The drafting arrangement motor can be made much smaller than hitherto. Also, the starting and slowing-down conditions can be accurately and sensitively controlled, thus reducing the risk of thread breakages.

  • Patent number: 5083298
Abstract: A monitoring apparatus is described for the contact-free monitoring of a region adjacent to a service robot of a ring spinning machine. The apparatus includes an electro-acoustic converter for transmitting a sonic signal which is divided into a sonic measurement signal S.sub.SM and a sonic reference signal S.sub.SR. An electronic control unit delivers a fault signal if no sonic signal has been received by the expiry of a reference transit time. If, on the other hand, a sonic measurement signal is received prior to the expiry of the reference transit time, the control unit delivers a recognition signal to indicate the presence of an object in the monitored region.
