  • Patent number: 5006843
Abstract: The disclosure describes a security system for motor driven vehicles and motor operated plants which uses a micro-chip that is mounted inside vital motor accessories and prevents these accessories from operating without the entry of a 4-digit code word. The micro-chip consists of a silicon substrate and an added semiconductor-switch that adapts the micro-chip to the various switching requirements of the various types of motor accessories. The silicon substrate carries all circuitry for data entry, data storage, conparison, evaluation and control functions and is designed to store data without power. Special circuits are provided to adapt the unit to a number of service requirements, such as maintenance, automatic code entry, and erasure of forgotten codes.

  • Patent number: 4771422
Abstract: There is disclosed a technique for interfacing various subscriber groups having different security levels which subscribers are associated with the same telephone system. According to this invention, every terminal element or subscriber has a programmable frame delay for the out and in registers associated with the switching network. In this manner, each subscriber of the same priority will receive the same delay on the transmit and receive paths. This delay is accommodated by means of an up or down counter which is inserted in the frame sync signal to the appropriate input and output registers. The input and output registers are controlled according to the priority of the subscriber, such that there is a complementary delay in the receive path and the transmit path so that the total delay for the same priority subscriber is equivalent to one complete frame. In this manner, only subscribers of the same priority can communicate with each other.

  • Patent number: 4058274
Abstract: Different embodiments of multiple branch systems in which each branch includes multiple stations, a carrier reversing tube closed at one end, and a diverter having separate ports individually connected to (a) a branch tube which facilitates carrier transfer to and from the branch, (b) station tubes respectively associated with the different stations of the branch, and (c) the carrier reversing tube. The branch diverters selectively complete carrier-conveying paths between (a) the stations of their respective branches or their respective branch tubes and (b) their respective carrier reversing tube. Each branch has a single air supply connected to its carrier reversing tube to alternatively and selectively transfer carriers between stations of the branch via the station tubes, diverter and carrier reversing section, as well as transfer carriers to and from the branch via the branch tube.

  • Patent number: 4047677
Abstract: A terminal for a single-tube pneumatic tube system adaptable for use in either an up-send/down-receive, or an up-receive/down-send, configuration. The terminal includes a send hopper into which a plurality of carriers can be inserted and stored prior to transmission on a sequential basis, an empty carrier hopper and a full carrier hopper which respectively store empty and full carriers transmitted to the terminal, and a transfer tube which reciprocates between positions aligned with the system tube, send hopper and empty and full carrier hoppers for transporting carriers therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4006868
Abstract: A carrier for transporting articles in a pneumatic tube system including, in one preferred embodiment, an elongated cylindrical body completely closed at one end and having an opening in the side wall thereof extending from the other end of the carrier a substantial distance along the length thereof, but substantially less than the entire carrier length, and having a width measured circumferentially approximately one-half of the carrier circumference. A semi-cylindrical cover is hinged to the carrier body along one longitudinal edge thereof to selectively close the opening in the side wall. Also included are mating semi-circular discs integral with the outer ends of the semi-cylindrical cover and cylindrical body section which cooperate to seal the end of the carrier adjacent the side wall opening when the semi-cylindrical cover is in its closed position sealing the side wall opening. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
