  • Patent number: 5542491
Abstract: A scuttle structure for a drive unit of a motor vehicle is disclosed which includes a scuttle for the drive unit which is displaced to the rear in the event of a head-on collision. A slide-down aid is fastened to the scuttle in such a way that, after shearing stress caused by a head-on collision, at least part of the slide-down aid slides down on the scuttle. By means of this scuttle structure, an intrusion of parts of the drive unit into the scuttle is prevented and the sliding-down action of the drive unit on the scuttle structure is assisted.

  • Patent number: 5381849
Abstract: A method for casting a cast part onto the end of a hollow section places the end of the hollow section in a defined position in a die which is then closed. The end opening in the hollow section is closed in a sealed manner against the penetration of cast material, at least during casting, the molten cast material is introduced into the remaining free space in the die and the hollow section is thereby cast around in a positive-locking manner, at least at the end. To improve the fixing of the hollow sections within the cast part, the hollow section is cooled during the casting of the cast part.

  • Patent number: 4993748
Abstract: A device for the vertically displacable positioning of an upper belt articulation or belt deflection point in a two-door motor vehicle without a middle column includes a carrier which at its top end receives a belt articulation or belt deflection fitting. The carrier can be transferred from a position of rest concealed in a side wall to at least one upper position of use projecting beyond the side-wall trim. In order to obtain the best possible belt-band run of an oblique shoulder-belt portion, an advancing movement towards the center of the vehicle is impart to the carrier when it has reached its position of use, so that the belt articulation or belt deflection fitting moves a predetermined amount towards an associated seated occupant.

  • Patent number: 4623166
Abstract: A head restraint for a vehicle, which in its stowage position is received by a hollow in the rear window shelf of the vehicle and which can be transferred, together with its bearing arms, into an operational position near to the backrest, the bearing arms being supported on the vehicle side on an inside wall of the hollow, so that, in the stowage position, both the head restraint and its bearing arms rest in the hollow. Before, during or after a swinging operation, the head restraint is pivoted in the opposite direction to the swing of the bearing arms, so that employment in a confined space is possible.

  • Patent number: 4393290
Abstract: A puffer-type gas blast circuit interrupter composed of two separable contacts defining a power current path and between which an arc is created upon separation movement, in which the movable parts of the gas compressor and/or the region of contact between the contacts of an associated nominal current path are shielded from the region in which the arc is created by a shielding arrangement composed of a stationary cylinder surrounding the nozzle associated with the gas compressor and a shield member carried by the nozzle. Additionally, to reduce the movable mass of the interrupter, at least one of the current paths is constituted by two stationary contact pieces and a movable contact member carried by, and projecting from, the cylinder of the gas compressor. Further, the mass of the moving parts of the system is reduced by providing the shield member carried by the nozzle with a cylindrical projection coaxial with, and slidable relative to, the stationary cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 4202577
Abstract: A motor vehicle provided with a hatch-back door closing off a storage space, in which two blinds arranged in a common housing are provided whose axes of rotation extend in the transverse direction. The blind serving the separation of the passenger space from the storage space is adapted to be suspended in its pulled-out position within the roof area, while the free end of the blind serving to cover the stored items is fastened within the area of the hatch-back door.

  • Patent number: 4123104
Abstract: A headrest for a motor vehicle in which an inflatable bellows forms the headrest which is provided with elastically yielding drawbands that return the bellows into its folded-together position when the bellows is deflated by withdrawing therefrom the pressure.

  • Patent number: 3994525
Abstract: A roof for a motor vehicle, particularly a passenger motor vehicle which possesses an area to be opened intermediate the windshield and a roll-over girder disposed within the area of the rear window; the area to be opened in the roof is subdivided into two sections which are adapted to be displaced telescopically and can be retracted one within the other into the area of the roll-over girder so as to be completely covered by the outer member of the roll-over girder; the roll-over girder together with the outer covering member thereby preferably forms a hollow body.
