    Abstract: This hybrid circuit breaker has at least two series-connected arcing chambers which are operated by a common drive or by separate drives and are filled with different arc extinguishing media. The arc extinguishing and insulating medium in the first arcing chamber surrounds the second arcing chamber in an insulating manner. The aim is to provide a hybrid circuit breaker which can be produced economically and which has high availability. This is achieved, inter alia, wherein means are provided which always ensure that the movement of the first arcing chamber leads the movement of the second arcing chamber during a disconnection process, and that the movement of the second arcing chamber always leads the movement of the first arcing chamber during a connection process.

    Abstract: The electrical apparatus, which is designed in particular as a surge arrestor (3), has a dielectric housing (8) which can be loaded with high voltage as well as an apparatus for optical indication of a fault state caused by a fault current. The indicating apparatus is designed as an information carrier (9) which covers at least a portion of the outer surface of the dielectric housing (8). This information carrier (9) emits an optically detectable signal when heated to a limiting temperature which is above a permissible operating temperature of the apparatus. The information carrier (9) is advantageously designed as a thermocolor. A faulty apparatus can then be identified by the maintenance personnel for a system containing the electrical apparatus, in a simple and reliable manner by means of a color change.

    Abstract: The compressed gas-blast circuit breaker includes two moving contact members (1, 2) which are guided to move counter to one another along an axis (3) in a chamber which is filled with insulating gas. These contact members each have an arcing contact (8, 9) and a main current contact (6, 7). An insulating nozzle (10) mounted on a contact member (1) is moved directly by a drive, and compressed gas is passed, during disconnection, through the constriction (11) in the insulating nozzle (10) into an exhaust space (14) from a pressure space (12), which is independent of the switching travel, and/or from a compression space (19), which is operated by the contact members. Drive force is passed to a contact member (2), which absorbs force, from the directly-driven contact member (1), through an insulating part and a speed converter.
