  • Patent number: 6453710
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a helically-wound lock-seam tube for a ventilation duct system, the tube is provided with a plurality of air nozzles through its wall. The method involves the steps of: feeding a strip of sheet metal from a supply to a punching and pressing unit; punching and pressing the strip in the punching/pressing unit to form two rows of spaced openings through the strip; feeding the punched strip to a roller unit, in which a longitudinal bead is formed in the strip; feeding the punched and beaded strip to a forming head in which the strip is helically-wound to form a tube having a helical lock seam; feeding the helically-wound lock-seam tube out of the forming head; and cutting the tube into desired lengths. The apparatus has components for carrying out the various method steps, and the finished tube is provided with a desired pattern of air nozzles.

  • Patent number: 6073977
Abstract: A device for coupling two pipe sections comprises a clamping band of U-shaped cross-section with two inwardly directed flanges for encompassing end beads of the pipe sections which are to be coupled. The ends of the clamping band have cylindrical pockets each accommodating a cylindrical element which is rotatable about its own axis in the pocket. The clamping band is clamped by means of a threaded screw which is passed through an unthreaded hole in one cylindrical element and unthreaded holes in the ends of the clamping band, whereupon the screw is in threaded engagement with the other cylindrical element.

  • Patent number: 5649662
Abstract: In this method a short pipe element (2) with a radially outwards directed bead (3) at its end rim (4) is inserted into a pipe, and a radially outwards directed bead (7, 8) is rolled in the other end (5) of the pipe element (2) and in the pipe (1), such that the pipe element is fixed inside the pipe. The pipe element (2) may before insertion into the pipe be provided with at least two radially outwards directed beads (9, 10), causing the pipe element after insertion to be tightly clamped and fixed inside the pipe, and the pipe element (2) may over a part of its outer surface be coated with a sealing material (13).
