Abstract: A device for powdering a product arranged on a transport, in particular for powdering new strip-shaped or plate-shaped glass by means of at least one application beam overhanging the transport, the application beam having a storage space supplied with a discharge slot on its bottom along the entire length of the beam and a feed device assigned to it, containing at least one driven roller. Loss of powder can be avoided and a clean operation can be achieved; by supplying several cover hoods near at least one lateral end of the roller, arranged next to each other, each being assigned to a narrow zone of the roller which cover hoods can alternatively be brought in cover position in which the circumference of the roller assigned to the discharge slot is covered.

Abstract: In the context of a device for preventing damage to a rotary printing press comprising a dryer owing to tearing of the web being processed, a high degree of safety is achieved if such device comprises a web catching device, a severing and halting device arranged following the web catching device in the direction of web travel, such web catching device and such severing and halting device being arranged between a last printing unit of the printing press and the dryer, and a web tear detector adapted to cause operation in sequence of the web catching device and the severing and halting device.

Abstract: In order to catch a broken printed web, which is gripped downstream from a printing unit, and more particularly downstream from the last printing unit of a roll feed rotary printing press, between a driven roll and at least one yoke which is able to be pivoted against the roll in response to the signal of a switch sensing breaking of the web, to ensure a high degree of operational reliability, the roll is initially run at a higher speed than the web and then the effective speed of the roll is made equal to the web speed by the use of a drive device with at least one yielding means therein, the torque transmitted to the yielding means being reduced to a value lower than the web break value at the earliest when the yoke comes into engagement with the roll.

Abstract: In the context of a stop motion device for a web feed printing press comprising a web interrupting device placed on the delivery side of a printing unit of the printing press and having a slot for the web from the unit to run, in order to achieve greater ease of operation and functional reliability there is at least one web tear detector switch which is structurally united with the web interrupting device and is adapted to respond to contact with the web and is placed clear of a plane occupied by the web during trouble-free operation of the press and in a position at which there will be an angular deflection of the web, free of tension, caused by an entraining cylinder, when the web tears.
