  • Patent number: 5174612
Abstract: A vibration isolating clamp apparatus for maintaining an end of a tube in sealing abutment with a surface, in substantial alignment with an aperture disposed in the surface, suitable for use in extreme temperature environments, wherein the tube has an outwardly-projecting, annular bead arranged substantially adjacent the portion of the tube adjacent the aperture in the surface. A retainer member is provided with a clamp attachment region and a tube retaining region. Means for enabling affixation of the clamp apparatus to the surface are disposed in the clamp attachment region. In the tube retaining region, means are provided for insertably receiving the extreme end of the tube. Bead sealing means entrap the bead between the tube retaining region and the surface. In the tube retaining region, tube isolation means limit the magnitude of transverse vibrations of the end of the tube, proximate to and beyond the bead, and away from the extreme end of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4192193
Abstract: A pressure gauge has a Bourdon tube element and a pointer mechanism supported on an inner support member which is substantially contained inside the case body of the gauge. The inner support member has a bore in communication with the inner space of the Bourdon tube. The case body has a flattened, outwardly projecting wall zone surrounding a first aperture. An end surface of the inner support member has a contour adapted to the contour of the case wall zone. The matching contours serve to position the inner support member and an outer connection member threads into the inner support member to hold it tightly in place. Seals are provided between the inner support and outer connection members and between the outer connection members and the case body. An air cushion sits on top of the dampening fluid. The air cushion is vented through a vent plug having a longitudinal bore that is terminated by a cross hole transverse to the bore.

  • Patent number: 4192192
Abstract: A diaphragm seal assembly for use with a fluid pressure responsive instrument includes an upper housing member having a first inner side. This inner side has a recessed surface defining a cavity and includes a passageway extending through the upper member for connection with the fluid pressure responsive instrument. A lower housing member has a second inner side and a passageway extending through the lower housing member. A diaphragm is received in the cavity and is clamped between the upper and lower housing members. A clamping device is provided for securing the upper and lower housing members together. The improvement comprises a deformable lip structure extending from the first inner side for bending over the periphery of the diaphragm to sealingly secure the diaphragm to the upper housing member.
