  • Publication number: 20260009106
Abstract: A process and an installation wherein a ternary system including an aqueous acidic solution, an organic solvent not miscible with water and a thermosensitive hydrotropic agent is used to selectively extract tantalum and optionally niobium by cycling extraction between low-temperature single-phase and high temperature two phase regions in the ternary phase prism far from the critical point.

  • Publication number: 20210324281
Abstract: The present invention relates to fuel derived from renewable resources. More specifically, the present invention provides a composition which can be used as a fuel and a mixture which can be added to one or more C8-22 fatty acid triglycerides in order to provide a fuel. In particular, the present invention concerns the reduction of decomposition of such fuels due to bacterial growth and oxidation.

  • Patent number: 5697167
Abstract: In a process for drying a substance, particularly wood shavings, wood chips or wood flakes, a partial stream of the vapor-gas mixture is separated after passing through the drying drum before the vapor-gas mixture is led to a first heat exchanger. This separated partial stream is led through a supplementary heat exchanger before it is conducted into the combustion chamber of the furnace in which combustion takes place of the gases arising during the drying. The flue gases are led through the aforementioned supplementary heat exchanger before they reach the first heat exchanger whereby they are brought down to a lower temperature. In this way the thermal stress on the material of the heat exchanger elements of the first heat exchanger is reduced, thereby increasing the life of these heat exchanger elements.

  • Patent number: 5271162
Abstract: The process for low-emission drying of a substance in a drum-type drying installation is suitable in particular for sewage sludge, fish meal and sludges from starch factories, soap factories and paper mills, which substances are preferably to be converted into granules. The process is likewise very suitable for drying biomass products such as wood chips, grass, sugar beet chips and the like, since the emissions are very greatly reduced by means of this process. The drying process is carried out in such a way that no unpleasant odors and dusts are emitted to the outside, because the actual drying circulation is closed. Fossil fuels are used as the heat source for the burner for heating this air stream.

  • Patent number: 4507542
Abstract: The impulse welding device includes a transistor circuit which is operated by an impulse generator. The power transistors of the transistor circuit are operated alternately in the blocked condition and in the conducting condition. The transistor circuit is connected to a direct current power source in series with the arc which is created between the welding electrode and the work piece to be welded. The transistor circuit is shunted by an ohmic resistor which allows a spacing current to flow through the ignited arc during the impulse pauses. Since the power transistors are substantially completely blocked during the impulse pauses, the power loss will be decreased.

  • Patent number: 4491759
Abstract: A piezoelectric vibration exciter for generating mechanical vibrations for the purpose of destructive material or specimen testing has two equally sized disk stacks, each with an even number of piezoceramic disks. A vibration armature serving as a clamping device for the test specimen is arranged between the two disk stacks in a stiff clamping frame having a bail and a base plate. The assembly containing the disk stacks and the vibration armature is clamped in position in the stiff clamping frame. The piezoceramic disks are energized with an AC voltage so that one disk stack will axially contract in phase with the voltage, while the other disk stack will axially expand. As a result, the vibration armature and the test specimen arranged between the disks reciprocate at the frequency of the AC voltage input.

  • Patent number: 4058634
Abstract: The drying method according to the invention provides first for the moistening of the material with juice pressed out from the material of an earlier run and the material is passed through a heat exchanger the heat of which is derived solely from the exhaust air of the main drying unit and subsequently pressing out the excessive moisture from the material before the main dryer.

  • Patent number: 3940515
Abstract: An improved dry process for the finishing of organic material, particularly textile material made from natural or synthetic organic fibres ist described, which comprises applying to an inert carrier preparations containing at least one textile finishing agent transferring at atmospheric pressure above 80.degree.C to the organic material, optionally a bonding agent stable below 250.degree.C, water and/or an organic solvent; drying of the said preparation; bringing into contact then of the treated side of the inert carrier with the surface of the organic material to be finished; subjecting thereupon of carrier and the material to be finished, optionally under mechanical pressure, to a heat treatment at a temperature of at least 80.degree.C until the said textile finishing agent has transferred to the material to be finished, and separating of the finished material from the carrier.
