  • Publication number: 20050178649
Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor for carrying out photocatalysed reactions in liquid or gaseous reaction media, consisting of a reactor vessel with a solid photocatalyst (PC), feed lines and take-off lines, mixing means, and a means of supplying electromagnetic radiation, containing microradiators which absorb the electromagnetic radiation and, with a time delay, emit light which excites the photocatalyst, and also to a process for carrying out photocatalytic reactions, in which solid PC are suspended in the liquid or gaseous reaction medium and are activated by means of microradiators which are charged up at an electromagnetic radiation source and which emit this energy with a time delay.

  • Patent number: 6210803
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of an electrolyte and acetic acid granulate for making a hemodialysis solution, the granulate comprising the electrolytes potassium chloride, calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, and the method comprising preparing the granulate and adding a desired quantity of acetic acid. The granulate, which is easy to process and has free flow capability, is made by crushing the electrolyte salts to a grain size of less than 0.5 mm and subsequently granulating the electrolyte salts in a dry gas atmosphere to a granulate having a grain size of 1 to 10 mm and a pore volume of more than 25 percent by volume. Subsequently, the acetic acid is added to the granulate, preferably by spraying.

  • Patent number: 5064908
Abstract: Oxidized polyethylenes useful as lubricants in the extrusion of polyvinyl chloride are prepared by oxidation of finely divided polyethylene of high density at elevated temperatures with an oxidation gas of air and/or oxygen, the polyethylene used containing from 0.015 to 0.5% by weight of a free radical former organic compound in admixture and being contacted per hour with an oxidation gas which per kilogram of polyethylene contains from 30 to 600, in particular from 80 to 300, mg of ozone, with or without a reduced pressure treatment at elevated temperatures after the oxidation.

  • Patent number: 4889897
Abstract: Oxidized polyethylenes useful as water-emulsifiable waxes and as lubricants in the extrusion of polyvinyl chloride are prepared by oxidizing finely divided polyethylene of high density at elevated temperatures with an oxidation gas of air and/or oxygen, the oxidation gas supplied per hour containing not less the 100 mg of ozone per kilogram of polyethylene, by performing the oxidiation in a paddle dryer and passing the oxidation gas into the free gas space above the polyethylene, the temperature in the paddly dryer preferably being continuously adjusted to from 1.degree. to 2.degree. C. below the softening point of the polyethylene.
