    Abstract: In a method for continuously coating a wafer for solar cell production, in a coating bath comprising metal such as nickel, copper or silver, said metal is deposited on the wafer. The wafer is introduced into the coating bath and, at a point in time at which the wafer already extends into the coating bath with a first region, but does not extend into it with a second region, a current surge is effected at the second region of the wafer, This initiates the electrodeposition of the metal on the first region of the wafer extending into the coating bath for a subsequent automatic coating with the wafer having been completely introduced into the coating bath, also on the remaining area of said wafer, without a further current surge or current flow.

    Abstract: Exhaust noise emitted by a pneumatically operated tool, such as a nailer, is damped by an external damping ring which surrounds the exhaust openings. Preferably, the damping ring is inserted into an outwardly open circumferential groove into which the exhaust openings of the tool housing merge. The ring is sufficiently elastic to permit the escape of the exhaust air, thereby damping the noise. The ring may be an elastic rubber or synthetic material ring (12) or it may be a tightly woven ring spring (12A).

    Abstract: A driving apparatus for fasteners, which receives the fasteners, such as nails, pins, or screws attached to a supply belt, has a cutter for cutting off sections of the supply belt as the latter comes out empty of a belt guide channel in which the fasteners are removed, one by one, from the supply belt. Thus, the empty supply belt can be easily removed and prevented from hindering the operation of the driving apparatus. The cutter may be operated manually or by pressure applied by a piston cylinder.

    Abstract: A magazine for fasteners with heads is made of two separate, profiled, extruded channel members of light metal or thermosetting material. The channel members are held together by a plurality of screws or releasable clips. The channel members are further spaced from each other by an exchangeable spacer rod, whereby the magazine may be adapted to fasteners of different sizes by replacing the spacer rod with another spacer rod having a different thickness and height or width. Gliding shoulders, for example of spring steel wire, for the fastener heads are arranged longitudinally on the inwardly facing side of each channel member.

    Abstract: Nails, screws and the like, referred to as fasteners, are automatically supplied into the magazine of a driver for the fasteners from a supply chute. A slide pusher may extend out of the free end of the magazine and cooperates with a gate at the discharge end of the supply chute, whereby the gate is opened when the free end of the magazine is inserted into the discharge end of the supply chute. In this position the magazine slide pusher is located in a recess to permit the fasteners to freely pass by the slide pusher into the magazine guide channel. When the magazine is full it is withdrawn from the supply chute, whereby a spring closes the gate and the slide pusher is moved back into the magazine guide channel to push the fasteners toward the magazine discharge end under the force of a spring in the magazine.

    Abstract: An impact drive tool is provided with a percussive piston arranged in a cylinder. A rod on the piston is mounted to drive a nail or other object into a workpiece. A valve arrangement is provided to apply compressed air to the upper surface of the piston, and a storage chamber communicating with the space below the piston is provided for returning the piston to a rest position. A plurality of sequentially arranged latching devices are provided for locking the piston in its rest position, the latching device effective at a given time being dependent on such factors as friction in the device and the amount of compressed air stored for the return stroke. A buffer surface is provided to effect the absorption of energy if the piston passes all of the latching devices, and to rebound the piston to the nearest latching device.

    Abstract: An impact drive tool has a cylinder within which a percussive piston is mounted for actuating a ram to drive a nail into a workpiece. Valve means are provided for introducing compressed air to one side of the piston to cause the impact stroke, and an air storage chamber is provided for returning the piston to its rest position. A truncated cone shaped first buffer element of a cellular polyurethane is affixed to the bottom of the percussive piston. A second buffer element of a harder material, such as a cross-linked polyurethane is mounted in the bottom of the cylinder. The second buffer element has a recess facing the first buffer element and shaped to receive the first element. The buffer elements are positioned so that, at the end of an impact stroke, the first buffer element is initially deformed, followed by the striking of a bottom portion of the piston on the second buffer element to absorb the impact energy.
