Abstract: The invention is directed to an electric shaving and hair trimming apparatus, with a first cutter arrangement or shaver assembly comprised of upper cutter and lower cutter for cutting short hair, and with a second cutter arrangement or trimmer head comprised of trimmer blade and trimmer plate for shortening long hair, with the use of the trimmer head involving a spacer comb seatable on the first and second cutter arrangement. When the apparatus is turned on, the trimmer head is invariably moved by an ON-OFF slide control means from its lowermost position (OFF position), in which its distance to the tip of the spacer comb is at a maximum, to its uppermost position in which its distance to the tip of the spacer comb is at a minimum and in which the shortest cutting length is set. In this manner, it is ensured that when starting operation of the trimmer head the beard hair is initially cut at the longest cutting length setting.

The movable shaving head axis of symmetry intersects the shearing plane in any direction in the geometric center of the shaving assemblies. The geometric center is provided as the stationary pole.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a shaving head for dry shaving apparatus, comprising a shaving head frame arranged on the shaver housing so as to be removable therefrom and a circumferentially closed, box-shaped exchangeable frame of a material of limited elasticity which is insertable into the shaving head frame, the exchangeable frame having a shaving foil mounted therein in arched form which is in cooperative relation with a reciprocating lower cutter assembly of suitable configuration which is urged against the foil by spring means, with corresponding holding and guiding means being provided on the exchangeable frame as well as on the shaving head frame to guide the exchangeable from in the shaving head frame in vertical direction.

Abstract: In a device for converting the rotary motion of an eccentric driven by a motor shaft into a reciprocating motion of a working tool coupled with a shaft pin in electrically powered appliances, in whose housing a double-armed rocker arm connected to the shaft pin is pivotably mounted, an oscillating body is provided for conversion of motion between the rocker arm and the eccentric, said body consisting of at least one flexible stud or a stud provided with a film hinge, and a connecting rod with a connecting rod head running at least partially parallel to this stud and comprising a film hinge, whereby the head of the connecting rod is connected to the eccentric and the stud is rigidly attached to the rocker arm.

A switch is provided which controls the supply of electrical energy to the drive, and a second slide--mounted on or in the first slide for movement relative to the same--has a projection which activates or de-activates the swtich in dependence upon the movement of the second slide.

Abstract: A shear foil for a dry shaver has a flexible sheet material body a central portion of which is provided with holes of a diameter between substantially 0.3 and 0.7 millimeters for the passage of beard stubble, and peripheral portions of which serve as mounting portions and are provided with holes of a diameter smaller than those in the central portion but not less than substantially 0.02 millimeters. The holes in the respective portions are separated by sheet material strips whose dimensions are so selected that the bending resistance of the shear foil body is substantially uniform throughout and that the portions of the body can withstand the maximum expected tensile and pressure forces.
