  • Patent number: 6145192
Abstract: The device has a base frame having a lever arm that is pivotably mounted at one end and, at its other end, carries a pressure punch. The press punch is moved on a circular path toward individual wires as a result of a manual actuation of the lever arm, and presses the individual wires into IDC contacts as a result of pressure being exerted linearly by a handle provided on a pivoting element.

  • Patent number: 5470261
Abstract: A press-in spring contact connector and method of pressing the same are provided. A plurality of contact springs are clamped between inner and outer insulator members. Each contact spring has a fastening section disposed parallel to, but offset from, a press-in part. Each contact spring has a recess which is engaged by a respective nose extending from the inner insulator member, the nose extending generally perpendicularly to the fastening section. The connector can be installed using a flat die that presses against a top surface of the outer insulator member without using a traditional press-in pressure member having pressure pins. The press-in loads are transmitted through the inner insulator member, the nose members and the recesses engaged therewith, and ultimately, to the press-in parts.

  • Patent number: 5040295
Abstract: A cable connecting tool with a force plug for the mounting/compacting of a flat cable inserted in a plug-type connector. The invention provides a sliding table 4 with a cable-end stop, movable in a first direction from a first position into a second position under the force plug, and stored on a base plate 4; and a press insert 3 with a reception compartment for the plug-type connector, this press insert being movable with the sliding table and also on the sliding table in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; and guide slots for the press insert such that it is moved into the second position towards the cable-end stop when the sliding table is moved, whereby a plug-type connector inserted in the reception compartment for the plug-type connector comes in direct contact with the cable-end stop in the second position.

  • Patent number: 4702545
Abstract: A contact spring is formed of a strip of spring sheet metal which is divided at one end into at least two and preferably three parallel webs, the two outer webs being longer and bent-back in a U-shape and connected at their free ends to one another by a cross piece which is immediately the U-shaped bend. The cross piece realizes a first contact surface while the shorter middle web has its free end residing opposite the cross piece to form a second contact surface. In the nonbent condition, the contact surfaces lie in the same region and are closely adjacent one another so that a band of spring sheet metal which includes a precious metal layer at only one side in a narrow region of the contact surfaces can be used to manufacture the contact springs. When two webs are provided, a longer one has a transverse arm and is bent-back adjacent the end of the shorter web.
