    Abstract: In a lamination process, a method for changing the withdrawal of a top layer to be applied to a base material at a belt type press by feeding of the forward end of the top layer from a second roller to the rearward end of the top layer from a first roller. The top layer from the first roller is then cut off in coordination with the arrival of the forward end of the top layer arriving from the second roller, so that the ends of both top layers are positioned on the base material flush with one another with a slight separating line or in an overlapping manner.

    Abstract: A method of making plates or profiled workpieces from annual plants such as flax, straw, hemp, rice, reed, sugar cane, cotton stem, includes the steps of pressing plant parts of annual plants into bales after harvesting and completely wrapping the bales with a liquid-tight, vapor-permeable sheet. The wraped bales can then be stored until further processing which can be effected without subjecting the bales to an additional drying operation. Unsuitable plant parts such as dust, foreign matters and the like may be separated after harvesting from the useful plant parts before the latter are pressed to bales and wraped by a sheet.

    Abstract: A double press for making and/or coating of web-shaped or plate-shaped workpieces of all types includes a reaction zone in which the pressure load of the workpiece passing through the press, and the intensity of the heat transfer or the heat removal are designed to be adjustable for individual products over an extended range. Between the pressing rolls (9) and the pressure plate (6), there are disposed bearing rollers (10) associated with the pressing rolls. A liquid pressure-transmitting medium flows turbulently in a short circulatory loop through the pressure chamber and a heating or cooling unit (13) located outside the pressure chamber. The double band presses can be employed in the furniture and electrical industry as well as in other branches of industry where laminated materials are used or processed.

Each chamber is constituted out of a holder that has a sealing strip. The holder and sealing strip are secured in such a way that they can be adjusted in a groove in the pressure plate by means of lateral guides constituted out of screws, adapters, or similar structures that are secured in such a way that they can be adjusted to the holder in the plane of the belt in such a way that deleterious horizontal displacement forces exerted by the belt on the sealing strip can be diverted into the pressure plate.

Each one of these pressure chambers is divided into an inner pressure chamber and an outer pressure chamber so that the compressed air first builds up in the inner pressure chamber and then, with a delay, in the outer pressure chamber. Moreover, the inner fitting may be provided with a blocking device which temporarily blocks the supply of pressure medium to the outer pressure chamber.
