Patent number: 5965637Abstract: The use of a thermosetting epoxy resin blend as a casting compound for electronic or electrotechnical components. The blend contains a silicone-modified epoxy resin in which organic components containing epoxy groups are chemically bonded to silicone components, and a mineral filler, optionally silanized, that regulates the thermal expansion behavior, in an amount of 40 wt % to 75 wt %, based on the thermosetting epoxy resin blend. The thermosetting epoxy resin blends are used to particular advantage for casting diodes.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1998Date of Patent: October 12, 1999Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Werner Pfander, Irene Jennrich, Richard Spitz, Uwe Koehler, Siegfried Schuler

Patent number: 5493162Abstract: A pole core with pole lips serves for fixing a field winding in the pole housing of a direct current motor. The pole core has a central pole body mountable on an inner side of the pole housing. The pole lips are formed of one piece with the central pole body and are resiliently and springily connected to the central pole body, so that the field coil can be pressed against the pole housing in an elastic springy manner without additional spring elements, so that no damage occurs to the insulating coat of the coil.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1993Date of Patent: February 20, 1996Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hans Wuerth, Werner Pfander, Walter Gritschmeier, Wilhelm Post, Juergen Leinhos, Hans-Juergen Kessler, Klaus Eilert, Dittmar Kleemann, Uwe Kroeger, Juergen Seeliger, Juergen Soellick, Gerda Wurth nee Eurich

Patent number: 5254807Abstract: An RPM sensor for anti-lock and/or traction control systems of motor vehicles or for engine speed governing or gasoline or Diesel injection control. The RPM sensor has a housing, receiving electrical components, with a first housing part of plastic that is at least partly enveloped by a second housing part, produced in an injection molding process, likewise from plastic. To attain a moisture-proof, material bond between the two housing parts, a melting element of a plastic having a lower melting point than that of the plastic of the housing parts is disposed in a contact zone between the two housing parts. When the second housing part is formed, the melting element is heated above its melting point, and a material bond of the two housing parts is attained which protects the RPM sensor against moisture dirt, stress, etc.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Werner Pfander, Kristian Leo, Klaus Heyer, Uwe Kohler, Hans-Jurgen Herderich

Patent number: 5189080Abstract: An encapsulating resin composition for electrical and electronic components consists of cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, a hardener, an accelerator, a filler and, sometimes, a pigment. As a result of the combination of the cycloaliphatic epoxy resin with the provision of methylnadic anhydride as hardener and amporhous SiO.sub.2 as a filler, the material is capable of flowing at room temperature, is physiologically harmless and also otherwise well suited for mass production of a wide variety of electrical and electronic components, for example diodes and other semi-conductors for the motor vehicle industry. A small addition of hollow glass spherical particles counteracts sedimentation of amorphous SiO.sub.2 in pre-hardening storage of the resin.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1992Date of Patent: February 23, 1993Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Klaus Heyke, Richard Spitz, Hans-Joachim Seidel, Irene Jennrich, Werner Pfander, Armin Vohr

Patent number: 4674816Abstract: To reliably prevent ingress of moisture to a connection between an electrical connecting cable or line to an electrical apparatus within a housing, the conductors of the cable or line are externally surrounded by an insulating layer which is of such a material that it joins, by melting or chemical reaction with the material of a surrounding bushing or sleeve, which bushing or sleeve then can be secured in a wall of the apparatus, for example by a removable rubber ring (FIG. 2) or can be molded into the housing of an electrical apparatus, for example a sensor; preferably, the materials of the housing and of the plug or sleeve also join, either by melting together or by chemical reaction. For a melt connection, a thermoplastic such as polyamide is suitable; for reactive connection, a reactive thermosetting plastic, for example polyester imide, or epoxy may be used.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1985Date of Patent: June 23, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Anton Frenznick, Bernhard Just, Eugen Krauss, Werner Pfander, Ewald Trankle

Patent number: 4368453Abstract: A meander-shaped layer of nickel is deposited by evaporation on a ceramic wafer over an intermediate layer of tantalum serving to improve adhesion, and covered by a protective coating of silicon or epoxy resin is used as a temperature sensor in the intake pipe of a supercharged internal combustion engine. The low mass of the sensor element thus provided enables the resistance of the nickel path to follow rapidly, by its variation, the variations of temperature of the intake air. The sensor has a casing made up of two parts, the lower one of which has two connection prongs molded into it, the ends of which are flattened into tabs that are soldered to contact areas of the ceramic wafer. The upper casing portion has a cavity for the ceramic wafer, the lower part of which is filled with a potting compound to protect the solder joints. The width of the nickel paths that provide the temperature sensitive resistance is about 50 .mu.m and the thickness is from 0.2 to 1 .mu.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1980Date of Patent: January 11, 1983Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Werner Herden, Hans-Martin Hochenberger, Hans Neu, Hans-Joachim Seidel, Werner Pfander, Heiko Gruner, Erich Zabler, Claus-Dietrich Pilch, Karl-Otto Linn
