  • Patent number: 6259515
Abstract: A process for determining the distance (D) between a distance sensor and an object. A transmitter sends wave pulses with a predetermined first frequency fb 1 and the wave pulses reflected by the object are received by a receiver and are directed in the form of an analog electrical incoming signal to an A-D converter. The latter scans the incoming signal with a second frequency f2 with f2>f1 and converts it into a digital signal Z(t) which is evaluated for determining a distance value (D) in the following manner: a) Evaluation of the digital signal Z(t) for determining a first wave pulse propagation time (T1); b) k-fold repetition of the step a) for determining the total k wave pulse propagation times (T1, T2, . . . , Tk); c) Calculation of a mean wave pulse propagation time (T=(T1+T2+ . . . +Tk)/k); and d) Calculation of the distance value (D) in accordance with D−v=T/2.

  • Patent number: 6094159
Abstract: A process for determining the distance between a distance sensor and an object, wherein an analog input signal is directed to a transmitter of the distance sensor. The transmitter emits a wave which is reflected by the object. A receiver of the distance sensor receives the reflected wave and thereupon emits an analog output signal whose level is dependent upon the distance and/or the type of object. The output signal is amplified by a subsequently added amplifier. The amplifier signal is directed to an analog/digital converter and is converted into a digital signal. The digital signal is directed to an evaluation circuit for the computation of a distance value. The signal amplification of the amplifier is controlled in an adaptively dependent manner on the level of the output signal and/or in a manner dependent on the signal value of an amplification signal made available by the evaluation circuit which is characteristic of an anticipated distance range.

  • Patent number: 6028378
Abstract: An electric motor with a multi-pole rotor and a multi-pole stator. The stator is mounted in a housing, the poles of the stator extend parallel to the direction of the rotor axis, and the rotor slots run helically with respect to the rotor axis. The stator magnets are mounted to the inside wall of the housing by means of gluing. The housing features a sound-insulating wall thickness and the helix angle of the rotor slots is approximately 8.degree. to 20.degree..

  • Patent number: 5747885
Abstract: A central locking system for a motor vehicle which has a number of actuators, each of which has a signal transmitter unit which sends data signals to a control unit as a function of current condition parameters of a monitored opening of the motor vehicle or as a function of externally input command signals, and the control unit generates control signals from these data signals, and final control elements of the central locking system, which bring about the locking and unlocking of the opening of the motor vehicle, are triggered by these control signals. According to the present invention, each actuator of the central locking system has a separate control unit to which the data signals of the signal transmitter unit of its actuator, as well as selected data signals of the signal transmitter units of the other actuators of the central locking system are sent.

  • Patent number: 5734244
Abstract: An appliance which, through motor-driven operation, is movable toward a closing edge, in particular, for use with window regulators and sliding roofs of automotive vehicles. For this purpose, the number of revolutions of the motor is permanently detected, with the number of revolutions of the motor being measured in successive measuring intervals. The number of revolutions is to be a measure of the force acting on the pane. Respectively the last four measured values are detected in a sliding register and are subjected to evaluation. For this purpose, first a start-up value is detected. The start-up value respectively is the third last measured value n.sub.i-3 if the difference D between the current measured value and the third last measured value does not exceed a predetermined differential threshold D.sub.max. For, in that case, the start-up value remains unchanged. Subsequently, the difference A is formed between the start-up value and the current value n.sub.i.

  • Patent number: 4739677
Abstract: An adjusting device in accordance with the invention for vehicular door locking systems operates such that in each adjusting action the adjusting force of the drive motor is checked to determine whether it is great enough to operate the output element. Only when this checking has a positive result is an adjusting action initiated.
