  • Patent number: 4227757
Abstract: A safe for storage of paper money of different denominations has an armored housing whose top wall has a row of openings. The housing confines several indexible conveyors, one for each opening and each having a stack of drawers for storage of bills of a particular denomination. A drawer of each conveyor is held in register with the respective opening. When the drawer which registers with the corresponding opening is empty or contains a small number of bills, the teller actuates a starting switch to index the respective conveyor with a preselected delay which cannot be altered by the teller whereby the conveyor lifts a filled drawer into register with the associated opening. The delay for indexing of each conveyor can be selected independently of the other conveyors. A second starting switch is actuated by the teller to index the respective conveyor in the opposite direction, without delay, whereby the conveyor moves a filled drawer into the interior of the housing.

  • Patent number: 3996890
Abstract: An apparatus which forms and transfers thin films of a viscous or freely flowable liquid has a housing which supports or includes a vessel for a supply of liquid, a fountain roll which is rotatable in the housing and a median portion of which extends transversely of an outlet of the vessel so that liquid which flows into the outlet forms a layer on the periphery of the median portion, and a cylindrical doctor having at one end a diametrically extending blade which defines with the periphery of the median portion of the fountain roll a narrow clearance through which a film of liquid passes toward a station where the film is transferred onto a ductor roll. The doctor is adjustable radially of the fountain roll and the latter is surrounded by two O-rings which prevent the liquid layer from spreading from the median portion to the end faces of the fountain roll. A further O-ring is mounted in the housing to sealingly engage and to prevent leakage of liquid along the periphery of the doctor.

  • Patent number: 3952865
Abstract: Apparatus which transports cigarettes from a pick-up station where the cigarettes move axially one behind the other to a delivery station where the cigarettes move sideways in one or more rows has one or more carriers which rotate about a horizontal or vertical axis and carry pick-up heads for cigarettes. The carriers are rotatable with as well as relative to a disk which is driven at a constant speed so that the heads move at a high speed during travel past the pick-up station and at a lower speed during movement past the delivery station. The mechanism for moving the carriers relative to the disk includes mating oval gears or bell crank levers which are pivotably mounted on the disk and are coupled to their carriers by means of links. The bell crank levers have followers which track a stationary cam. The carriers may constitute levers which are articulately mounted on a turret rotating in a horizontal plane in response to rotation of holder which moves the turret by means of several crank units.
