The hybrid core structure includes a central core structure formed from a spirally wound separable ribbon that supports a central portion of the elastomeric tube in a radially expanded state, and first and second solid end core structures that support first and second end portions of the elastomeric tube in a radially expanded state. Each solid end core structure has a film disposed on at least an inner surface thereof having a coefficient of friction less than or equal to 0.05.

The voltage sensing device comprises a) a radially-inner electrode (20), operable as a first sensing electrode of a sensing capacitor for sensing the voltage of the power-carrying conductor, b) a radially-outer electrode (30), operable as a second sensing electrode of the sensing capacitor, and c) a solid carrier element (10), at least a first portion of which is arranged between the inner electrode and the outer electrode, the first portion being operable as a dielectric of the sensing capacitor. The sensor can be accommodated in a cable accessory. The carrier element may comprise ceramic material to increase accuracy.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a non-return valve for a resin injection system, especially for use in electrical cable joints, comprising: a valve housing which includes an outlet for a fluid flowing through the valve; and a valve body which is held by the valve housing and is freely movable between a closed position, in which the outlet is substantially sealed or closed to fluid flow by the valve body, and an open position, in which the outlet is substantially open to fluid flow. Thus, with the present invention, the valve body can be loosely held by the valve housing and the valve need not include any spring means to bias the valve body to the closed position. The invention also provides a resin injection system for sealing a localized breach in an object, such as an electrical cable joint.
