  • Patent number: 11735391
Abstract: A charged-particle source for generating a charged-particle comprises a sequence of electrodes, including an emitter electrode with an emitter surface, a counter electrode held at an electrostatic voltage with respect to the emitter electrode at a sign opposite to that of the electrically charged particles, and one or more adjustment electrodes surrounding the source space between the emitter electrode and the counter electrode. These electrodes have a basic overall rotational symmetry along a central axis, with the exception of one or more steering electrodes which is an electrode which interrupts the radial axial-symmetry of the electric potential of the source, for instance tilted or shifted to an eccentric position or orientation, configured to force unintended, secondary charged particles away from the emission surface.

  • Patent number: 5152624
Abstract: The print substrate support (3) and longitudinal guides (4) for a print-head slider (7) are disposed in parallel at the invention printer. A controllable paper-guide drive motor (10) is furnished for the paper guide (9; 9a) and a drive motor (11) is furnished for the print-head slider (7). In order to be able to economically produce printers for different paper widths, and in order to eliminate problems of interfering radiation, a separated space (14) is furnished at the end of the paper guide (9; 9a) or respectively, of the longitudinal guide (4). At least one control-logic printed circuit board (15), an interface printed circuit board (16), the paper-guide drive motor (10) as well as the print-head-slider drive motor (11) are disposed in the separated enclosed space (14).

  • Patent number: 4563801
Abstract: The inlet and/or outlet edge of a blank which is to be converted into the vane of an impeller for use in a centrifugal pump is reinforced by providing an exposed surface of the blank with a pair of contiguous recesses which extend along the edge and the deeper of which is immediately adjacent to the edge. The recesses are then filled with metallic armoring material by cladding so that some of the surplus extends beyond the recesses and/or beyond the edge. In the next step, the surplus of armoring material is removed by one or more material removing tools, together with a portion of the blank in the region of the edge so that the exposed surface is provided with a fresh edge which is defined by the armoring material.

  • Patent number: 4492154
Abstract: An overload protection for presses in which the working stages are protected against overload by balance-like overload pressure-responsive devices; to further protect the press balance-like adding pressure-responsive devices are also used whose operating point adjusted to the limit loads of the connecting rods is adjusted to a smaller value than the sum of all of the balance-like overload pressure-responsive devices; the adding pressure-responsive devices are connected in parallel since the pressure space of each balance-like overload pressure-responsive device is connected to one pressure space each of each adding pressure-responsive device; the cross sectional areas of the pistons of the balance-like adding pressure-responsive devices are calculated from the distance of the working stages to the actuating planes; for the left adding pressure-responsive device, from the distance of the working stages to the right actuating plane whereas for the right adding pressure-responsive device, from the distance of th

  • Patent number: 4376585
Abstract: A matrix printer, having a movable print head, a paper feed and advance mechanism and an ink ribbon system, is driven by two motors; one for the print head and one for paper feeding and ribbon movement. This second motor is a reversible one and drives the paper advance when rotating in one direction and the ink ribbon when rotating in the opposite direction. Speed control for the paper feed phase is derived from a cam on the input shaft for the paper advance. A reset mechanism for that shaft is also included.
