Patent number: 6216088Abstract: A method for determing travel route data, especially within the framework of navigation of a vehicle, using a digital map which is kept in a central control station and in which static and dynamic parameters are stored by route section for the detected traffic routes, wherein the static parameters include at least structural features of the respective traffic route. The dynamic parameters include at least one conductance value and one load function of the respective section of the traffic route. The dynamic parameters are derived one time for the presetting of starting values from the structural features and, from that point, are continuously adapted to the real conditions of the respective sections of the traffic route with ensured availability of dynamic data independent from static parameters. The travel route data are determined on the basis of the relevant dynamic parameters.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1999Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Assignee: Mannesmann AGInventors: Werner Schulz, Christel Sievers, Uwe Albrecht, Karlheinz Schlottbom

Patent number: 6178374Abstract: A process for the wireless transmission of data to a traffic sensor for assessing traffic in segments of a road network includes collecting data in a plurality of floating cars that travel in traffic and have sensor system for collecting the data. A current driving profile is formed in each floating car from the collected data. Actual values of characteristic driving profile properties are derived from the current driving profile and expected values of the characteristic driving profile properties are formed based on preestablished traffic situation information. A difference between the actual values and the expected values is determined and if the difference is determined to be a serious deviation from the expected values based on preestablished decision criteria, the data collected by the sensors is transmitted to a traffic center.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1999Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Mannesmann AGInventors: Klaus Möhlenkamp, Thomas M{umlaut over (u)}ller, Werner Schulz, Stefan Vieweg

Patent number: 4706873Abstract: A paper cup or similar disposable thin-walled fluid container with a removable or pop-out portion in its sidewall containing redemption information is disclosed wherein the pop-out portion is formed by a series of surrounding perforations in the sidewall, which perforations are sealed against fluid leakage by being filled with the protective material, such as wax, that is used to coat the sidewall to protect it against the fluid in the container. The perforations may outline an integral portion of the sidewall or when the redemption indicia is to be obscured, separate portions at the opposite edges of the sidewall blank may be outlined, which portions will cooperate to form the pop-out portion as part of the sidewall seam when the edges are overlapped and joined. In the latter instance, the perforations extend into the sidewall beyond the limits of the seam so that an opening will occur in the sidewall when the pop-out portion or a part thereof is removed to view the prize indicating indicia.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1982Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Assignee: James River-Norwalk, Inc.Inventor: Werner Schulz
