    Abstract: Polymer mixtures of:(A) 2 to 98 wt. % of a polymer containing at least 80 wt. % of the repeating unit --(CH.sub.2 --O)--; and (B) 98 to 2 wt. % of a polymer containing at least to 90 wt. % of a polymer B1 which contains at least 60 wt. % of a monomer of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R is an alkyl group with 1 to 3 carbon atoms and X is ##STR2## and 80-10 wt. % of a polymer B2 having a glass transition temperature, Tg, below 0.degree. C., and which is covalently bonded with at least 5 wt. % of the polymer containing the monomers of formula I exhibit high solvent resistance and good mechanical properties.

    Abstract: Modified rubber compositions comprise by weight about 15-60% of a highly saturated aliphatic rubber such as ethylene-propylene-diene rubber, about 25-80% of acrylate monomer units; and less than about 5% multi-functional monomer units. The compositions exist as amorphous heterogeneously dispersed phases. The first phase comprises the copolymer rubber to which polymers of at least 10% of the other monomer units are grafted. The second phase comprises the other monomers polymerized as homo and copolymers, not grafted to the rubber. Optionally, up to 20% of the composition comprises high index monomer units. The high index monomer units may be copolymerized with the acrylate and grafted to the rubber. Greater than 10% of the monomer units other than rubber are grafted to the rubber. The number average molecular weight of the grafts is between 10,000 and 80,000 daltons.

    Abstract: Multi-layer plastic elements containing a polycarbonate core, with a polymethacrylate layer containing a UV absorber, and modified to be impact-resistant, applied to the core, where the polymethacrylate plastic layer is composed of methacrylate copolymers, which form compatible mixtures with polycarbonate, especially the polycarbonate of bisphenol A, exhibit good adhesion between the polycarbonate and the polymethacrylate. The methacrylate copolymers are methyl methacrylate copolymers with (meth)acrylic monomers which contain carbocyclic substituents in the ester group. The protective layer containing UV absorber is applied to the polycarbonate plastic in thickness from 1 to 500 .mu.m by coextrusion or by lacquering.
