  • Patent number: 12544108
Abstract: A joint of an external retaining device for fragments of a bone (external fixator) with circular ribs and grooves having a V-shaped cross-section, the flanks of which form frustum-shaped friction surfaces, which enable a high friction force to prevent rotation of the joint, and thereby prevent inadvertent displacement of the retaining device, and enable adjustment of the retaining device using an adjustable friction force for aligning the fragments of the bone.

  • Patent number: 6702502
Abstract: A ball-and-socket joint, preferably for motor vehicles, in which a joint ball formed on a pivot pin is mounted movably in a bearing shell consisting of a plastic, is presented. The bearing shell has recesses accommodating lubricant on its inner jacket surface facing the joint ball and is itself inserted into a housing. According to the present invention, the recesses may be grooves as a structural system with groove sections or depressions of microscopic size extending obliquely in relation to the central longitudinal axis of the ball-and-socket joint. Due to this novel design, a pumping effect is achieved during movements of the joint ball over the groove sections, and this pumping effect draws the lubricant present in the groove sections into the gap between the joint ball and the bearing shell, so that improved lubrication of the ball-and-socket joint compared with the state of the art is guaranteed under all operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 6540404
Abstract: A sintered plain bearing for motors and gear drives, having a running surface formed by a bearing bore and capable of having lubricant applied to it from lubricant reservoirs in the bearing, in which the bearing bore has, alternatingly distributed over the circumference, high-compaction small-pore running surfaces and axially extending low-compaction open-pore lubricant reservoirs. Lubrication is improved, especially in the initial phases of operation, by the fact that the lubricant reservoirs are constituted by channel structures having at least two longitudinal channels, and that at least in some of the channel structures, some of the channel crests remaining between adjacent longitudinal channels are in contact with the shaft received by the bearing bore in order to transfer lubricant.

  • Patent number: 6413915
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a lubricant for a ball-and-socket joint, wherein spherical particles of two different sizes are introduced into an oil or a lubricating grease. The coarser particles act as spacers, which prevent the ball of the ball-and-socket joint from lying on a bearing shell during standstill of the ball-and-socket joint. The finer particles prevent the coarser particles from agglomerating and keep the coarser particles spaced apart from one another and they also keep them distributed in the ball-and-socket joint as a result.

  • Patent number: 4955934
Abstract: A measuring device with a test tape cassette, in which sensors are placed on the tape spools comprising a hub and a spool body arranged in rotary manner with respect to the hub, which determine the angular displacement between hub and spool body in conjunction with a test circuit and display same as a measure of the torque acting on the tape spools. The hub and spool body are interconnected in per se known manner by means of a spring element. Preferably the test tape cassette has a printed circuit board as the upper cover, on which are located the sensors and the necessary electrical lines.
