  • Patent number: 7396464
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the separation of substances, in particular of solid substances, liquid phases of varied density and/or of gases, from a liquid, by rotation with several filtering elements, which permit the filtered liquid to pass through and which are rotatably supported around a rotational axis inside of a housing, said housing exhibiting an inlet opening for the liquid, at least one discharge opening for the heavy substances separated by rotation and at least one discharge opening for the filtered liquid. In accordance with the invention, a throughflow is provided, in the region or in the proximity of the rotational axis of the filtering elements, for substances exhibiting a density lower than that of the liquid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 28, 2002
Date of Patent: July 8, 2008
Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Forderung Der Angewandten Forschung E.V.
Inventors: Werner Sternad, Walter Trosch, Lothar Schreiner
  • Patent number: 7037429

  • Publication number: 20050029183
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the separation of substances, in particular of solid substances, liquid phases of varied density and/or of gases, from a liquid, by rotation with several filtering elements (5, 6, 7), which permit the filtered liquid to pass through and which are rotatably supported around a rotational axis (3) inside of a housing (1), said housing exhibiting an inlet opening (28) for the liquid, at least one discharge opening (44) for the heavy substances separated by rotation and at least one discharge opening (32) for the filtered liquid. In accordance with the invention, a throughflow (48) is provided, in the region or in the proximity of the rotational axis (3) of the filtering elements, for substances exhibiting a density lower than that of the liquid.
