  • Publication number: 20240135768
Abstract: A sensor for verifying value documents is designed to determine a luminescence characteristic of a value document that is moved past the sensor for verification purposes, and the provision of a velocity correction of the luminescence characteristic of the value document in the sensor, resulting in a distortion of the measured luminescence intensities. A reference sensor is used to determine an average velocity dependency of the luminescence characteristic of a reference medium, said average velocity dependency being averaged over both opposite directions of movement and being used to determine a velocity dependency of a corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic. Said determined velocity dependency is used to determine the corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic, said corrective factor applying to the velocity of the movement of the value document during the verification process, and the luminescence characteristic is then corrected by said corrective factor.

  • Patent number: 10052509
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system as well as a method for extinguishing fire in an enclosed room (6) in which the enclosed room (6) is flooded with extinguishing gas at least until an extinguishing gas concentration capable of providing an extinguishing effect (a) is set in the flood zone. In order to achieve the realizing of a maximum extinguishing gas concentration (b) as quickly as possible without the flooding of the room (6) thereby posing a danger to people, it is inventively provided for the flooding of the enclosed room (6) to be divided into a pre-flooding phase and a main flooding phase subsequent thereto. The pre-flooding phase corresponds to an interval of time between the time (t1) the alarming starts to warn people of impending danger and a predefined time (t2). The main flooding phase corresponds to an interval of time between the predefined time (t2) and the time (t4) at which a maximum extinguishing gas concentration (b) is reached.

  • Patent number: 9220937
Abstract: The present invention relates to an inerting method for extinguishing a fire in a closed room in which the oxygen content in the closed room is reduced to a specific inerting level within a given time (x), as well as a device for carrying out the method. In order to achieve the most exacting design possible to the inert gas fire-extinguishing system used during the inerting method, and in particular the most precise dimensioning possible to the inert gas to be provided, while simultaneously adhering to the required fire-fighting stage and re-ignition prevention stage necessary when extinguishing fires, the invention provides for the inerting level to be kept to the re-ignition prevention level within a given regulation range.

  • Patent number: 9079054
Abstract: The invention relates to an inert gas fire-extinguishing system for reducing the risk of and extinguishing fires in a protected room. So as to have the inerting of the protected room ensue according to different variable sequences of events, the inert gas fire-extinguishing system includes a pressure-reducing device having at least two parallel branches, wherein each parallel branch has a pressure-reducing mechanism. Each parallel branch is connectable to a high-pressure collecting line and a low-pressure extinguishing line via a controllable valve, whereby each pressure-reducing mechanism is designed to reduce a high input pressure to a low output pressure according to a known pressure-reducing characteristic curve.
